Progress Report

Okay! We're a day overdue for this (oops), so let's get into the Progress Report. It's mostly good news.

Left Hand Magic

So, the good news here is that I'm actually already through the Revina/Trix/MC threesome weekend event...and within 2 still renders of being done with the Ariana event as well. And those of you who took note of the order I was supposed to be working in probably just blinked, since I should have been doing the Talia route first. Unfortunately, I hit a bit of a snag with that route. Specifically, that I'm not happy with placing the event I had planned there as the Weekend 4 event. I realized it would fit a lot better as the Weekend 5 event instead. But that left me needing to completely rethink what to actually do as the Weekend 4 event. To buy a bit of time, I skipped ahead to the Arianna Route. Which is now essentially done. I've had a few ideas on the Talia event now, so I'll double back for it.

The only other real news here is that I've decided to hard stop everything at the Arianna Route, without worrying about the extra scene I was considering making. Depending on how Talia's stuff goes, I might add one more animation to a previous scene. But that will be only of Talia route finishes without any issues at all. This build won't be quite the size I'd really like...but this decision was taken in an effort to wrestle us back onto track, schedule wise. There has, once again, been a slowly building delay at the front of each month (or back of the month, if you want to look at it that way). I'm hoping that by halting renders no later than the 24th, I'll be able to get everything out 100% on time this month, resetting the Cascading Delay Syndrome that seems to be making a resurgence. The build will also still be a fairly decent chunk of content, given that the Weekend Events tend to be longer than their Weekday equivalents, anyway.

Short Story

Eros Academy: Taming Violet is already done, save for the editing. Which will be one of my major focuses tonight. Unless something goes wrong, I should be uploading it tomorrow!

The Virtual Trap (Part 3)

Rendering is 100% done, including post-processing. Hopefully, I'll have a bit of time to get started on the writing for it tonight. Though I have my doubts due to one other commitment, though it's a good one. Specifically...

Hardware Update

I mentioned this last time, but I've acquired some Hardware Upgrades for my primary rendering PC. In fact, I actually went a bit farther than originally intended. I've acquired upgrades for the Motherboard, CPU, RAM, and SSD. Essentially, since I tossed a new (hopefully better at cooling) case in as well, the only things I'm taking from the old rig are the numerous storage hard drives, the two GPUs (a Nvidia 3080 and 2070 Super respectively), some high-performance fans, and the Power Supply. Hopefully, the overhaul will help at least some with rendering speeds, though the GPUs are the biggest work horses there. This is going to mean that the rendering rig will be down for at least a day while I make the upgrades. Which I'm intending to do tonight. Which is also why I have my doubts about getting to the MMS writing tonight.

If everything goes well, I'll be back up and running on the upgraded system tomorrow. So...cross your fingers and wish me luck? Honestly, the worse case should be that I fucked up something when ordering the parts and I end up having to revert until I get replacements that will actually work. I admit the standards for MBs have changed enough in the last few years that I was struggling with getting everything right, just a bit. Or, you know, technically it's possible that I screw up the CPU install by bending a pin. I've done this enough times (and I'm super paranoid and careful every single time) that it will probably be okay. This whole thing gives me a little bit of anxiety every time I do it -_-, despite having spent years working in IT when I was younger.
