Progress Report

Ah, crap. It's been a full week since I did a progress report! Sorry everyone, life has been kind of throwing issues my way and I lost track of how long it had been -_-. That said, all rewards for this month EXCEPT the game are already out. So this is basically just a status report on how the Left Hand Magic build is going. 

The answer to that is...not horrible? But not fantastic either. First off, the renders/animations are all done, including post-processing for them. I ended up having to re-render two of them because major issues slipped through. And there's a third I wish I had time to re-render, since it came out stiffer than I'd have liked. That one isn't bad enough for me to justify the extra time on it, though, so it merely got added to the list of 'fix this when I can.' There's been, pretty routinely, a single animation added to that list every build. Going to need to start actually redoing like, one of them every build or something. Maybe? Mostly they don't need redone from scratch, just tweaked to fix some issues....

Anyway! That side-rant aside, while the renders and animations are done...the re-rendering I had to do cost me a day and a half or so of time I wasn't expecting. I spot check animations after I finish them, so it's a little unusual for me to not catch something major until post-processing like happened this time around. As a result, I hadn't planned for it and it's thrown things off schedule. Right now, I can't tell you exactly what that means. I only just started on the programming this AM. I got a couple hours into it...and most of the scenes aren't too complicated on the programming side.

I'm going to try and push hard to get the programing completely done today/early tomorrow. That would help make up some of the lost time and get me started on the writing on Sunday night/Monday morning. The problem is that, usually, I can only do about 4-5 scenes of writing on a good day. Which means, currently, that I will finish the writing up on...the morning of the 31st. And will still need to do the editing, gallery, and testing. That's at least another day, possibly two.

So. Um. Yikes. See what I mean by the unexpected loss of time for those animation redos throwing things off kilter? >_<

I promise I'll try to push as much as a can to close the time gap that opened. But my best guess right now is that there's probably a 60-70% chance of a 1-2 day delay. I doubt it will be more than that, unless something goes badly wrong. As always, I'll do my best to keep any delay as short as possible. But, also as always, I wanted to warn everyone that it's possible it might happen :-(. Sorry folks. I kinda of just flat out screwed up on this one. No two ways about it.
