Chastity Quest - Progress Report

Past time for a progress report, I think. In truth, I had originally intended to wait until I'd processed the Poll Results as well, but my brain is too fried to do it right now and we're a bit overdue for a progress report anyway. So far this month, I've basically been focusing solely on Chastity Quest so far, so I'll keep the progress report just limited to that this time. Thankfully, I've made a decent amount of progress, though slightly less than I'd have wished.

First and foremost, I've got the first batch of 10 scenes essentially done. I need to do the writing for one of them still, but that'll take like 15 minutes once my brain is less sluggy than it is now. This might not seem like I've gotten very far, except that it also includes all of the basic core set up for the new hub area. New mods, establishing screenshots, the code linking the areas, the dialogue for the linking of areas, and so on. Neither of the other sets of 10 will take as long, since all of that is already done.

Moreover, I've also been working on the other stuff that needed to be knocked out. I've completely finished overhauling the Fast Travel system, for example. There is now a Fast Travel button in every major location that will allow Fast Travel between all other (discovered) major points in the same quest hub. This should make the game MUCH less frustrating to get around in. Additionally, I've gotten about 90% of the Dominance Restriction and Dominance Lock code done. In fact, that's the reason my brain is sorta fried at the moment. It should have been completely done...but I hit a stumbling block I haven't been able to resolve. 

Apparently, I've somehow made it this almost to the end of the game without having to set one variable equal to another variable. Which is...pretty odd, honestly. That's a fairly normal need as far as code goes. I can, without even looking at the code for it, tell you a half dozen places I'd have to do exactly that for Haven's Port. Which therefore, make me curse a blue streak and facepalm repeatedly when it turns out doing that isn't easy in Visual Novel Maker. In point of fact...I haven't actually figured out a way to do it at all yet, after an hour or more of hammering away at both the engine itself and the horrible, horribly inadequate, documentation for the stupid piece of rotting muk that is this engine. I've had to put in a question to their support forum on how to do it, and will likely put one up on the Steam forum as well. Hopefully, either I figure out a workaround, or they actually get back to me this time. I'm grateful I discovered it so relatively early this month, really. 

Anyway, I've knocked out a much of stuff that needed doing, and the next set of scenes should go quicker now, so I'm reasonably on-target for the goals this month. I'll get back to you all sometime in the next couple of days with the poll results stuff. And, shortly after that, I'll probably also have a new poll for everyone regarding the Next Game as well. Sometime this month for sure we'll start the next step there.
