Update on The Elven Maid Reward

So...I have bad news, neutral news, and good news. I'll tackle them in that order.

The bad news..I was wrong about not actually being sick -_-. Apparently, I never actually got over that sinus infection I had earlier in the month (probably because I stupidly went traveling while suffering through it). So when the last of the antibiotics left my system, I got sick again. Or, at least, that's the theory. Which is seriously frustrating, as I don't actually get sick that often and usually kick minor things fairly quick. Net result...I haven't gotten all that much done on anything, since I've been struggling to sleep from the coughing and my head feels like it's about to explode or fall off half the time. This means that I haven't done ANY work on the art (save getting the programs squared away again and the little bits of line art I already mentioned) for Cosplay Cafe...and even writing has been going at a crawl. The Elven Maid is unlikely to get posted today...but probably won't be more then a couple of days late.

Which brings in the neutral news. Part of the reason that The Elven Maid update isn't going to be quite done on time, is that I felt the need to reread the entire current work before I added more to it. The slow pacing of updates for it had simply removed me enough from my writing thought-process that I needed to go over it all again from start to finish, despite the outline of the story I have... But, what was intended to be a simple skim of the story to make sure I wasn't screwing things up, turned into a full-blown editing pass when I kept finding typos >_<. The good part of this is that a couple dozen typos have been removed and the language has been tweaked (and a few new lines added) in just as many places to make the story flow smoother. Unfortunately, the downside was that it ate up two days (normally it probably only would have been one but...I'm sick) that I should have been writing the new content in.

And finally there's the good news. Namely, that despite the delays I actually do have a good chunk written and the rest of the new content is already outlined. I've already got a little over 2,000 words of new stuff, and should have at least 2,000 more by the end of the day. Updates are generally 5-6k words. So my expectation is that I'll finish the writing by Monday night/Tuesday early-morning, do the editing pass sometime on Tuesday, and post the reward either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.  Given that I still feel like crap, I can't 100% guarantee that timeline, but I think it's pretty likely. So, probably no more than 2-3 days late.

As I've said far too often for my own liking, I hate not getting rewards out on time, it makes me feel like a jerk. But in instances like this there's not much I can do. I apologize for it nevertheless. Hopefully, my routinely making the Eros Academy updates bigger than I'm technically supposed to makes up for my occasional slips at least a little...
