Patreon Update
Added 2023-12-08 23:34:56 +0000 UTCAs you guys may have noticed, I am now making Patreon a major focus of my career. That means more posts on Legendary Supporters, more regular updates and the whole new tier AI Insiders.
What is AI Insiders? Aside from being my way of keeping the channel sustainable and thriving into 2024, it's my outlet for creative content beyond the main AI Explained channel. That means a new podcast, exclusive AI Explained-style videos (one released tonight called AGI timelines includes snippets from no less than 6 interviews I did with experts from Nvidia, Google DeepMind and Microsoft), and hours of tutorials with slides.
I am also going to be launching an Insiders Arena, where members will get a chance to make an explainer of your own, and the best of the bunch will be picked to go on here and a snippet on AI Explained YT (companies offer me thousands for that but I pretty much always say no!). Already have some great submissions just by word of mouth but the first slot goes to the legendary AI Engineer Swyx with an exclusive explainer called 'The Rise of the AI Engineer' (he pokes fun at my thumbnails - it is pretty funny, but the talk is super-useful for any AI Engineer). Doesn't just have to be builders though, it's for any of you who feels they can explain an AI-related concept better than I can!
There is a shiny new exclusive Discord too, but to all those who can't upgrade, I will still be contributing occasionally to the AI Explained Community discord (in fact, have a Q and A there on Sunday!)
Am super-grateful for all of you Legendary supporters who kept the channel going through a tough autumn and still give me such support. Many thanks.

Either there are no text channels or you do not have access". As described earlier. And I have checked, both your servers are not public (searchable). So yeah, I too wonder how 200 found access. Did you post a link in YT? I could not find any (searched).

2023-12-20 17:47:52 +0000 UTCThat is the help-page of Patreon dealing with the concept. The problem here is that the Discord link appears to be valid, but no channels were given access rights. It’s an empty server to the observer.

2023-12-14 13:22:21 +0000 UTCSo a bit of context: I'm blind and use the Voiceover screen reader on my iPhone. The patreon app has a ton of unlabeled buttons, especially on the audio / video players. I've been able to figure it out, mostly by hitting every button until it does what I want and just remembering the position of that button for next time, but it's nowhere near as nice as Youtube's interface, for example. I can definitely work with this though!

Sometimes I feel like the guy who cheered The Beatles in Hamburg only to see the world go nuts a few years later. And I love YouTube, but I think it's a good move to build a community here, and a higher paywall helps (hopefully) to optimize the odds that "enthusiast level" fans are in the discussion. Whether for pro or con, the elevated discussion is valuable to be sure.
