New Game Chosen! - The Sexy Cosplay Café

The decision for which game to focus on was technically made on Wednesday, one month after I first put it to the vote for my Patrons and two weeks after asking the general community to weigh in. I didn't get quite as many responses as I'd have liked, even counting a few PMs and answers on forums, there were less than 35. Even so, two clear favorites worked there way to the top, those were:

The Sexy Cosplay Café

and

Perversions of Thieves

Even had the come out dead even, I likely would have chosen The Sexy Cosplay Café, as I've been hit with a rather potent muse for working on it's design and art elements. As it happens, however, The Sexy Cosplay Café edged out Perversions of Thieves ever so slightly anyway. As such, I'm Officially Announcing The Sexy Cosplay Café as my next game...likely under a less generic title -_-.

Now, let me briefly touch on what this is going to mean.

1) Formal development WILL NOT start until after the Eros Academy 2.0 update is finished. Right now I'm very tentatively estimating that said update will be ready in the first or second week of March. That update is a larger one, with a fair bit more writing and code than usual, in addition to what I'm estimating will be nearly 100 new renders. (Not incidentally making it the largest ever update for Eros Academy). 

Note: This does not mean I won't be working on Cosplay Café in freetime. (What little free time I actually have). I'm going to be spending a considerable amount of time locking down design, story, characters, and getting my art fully up to par. I honestly already have quite a bit of that sort of thing for this particular game, due to it being stuck in my head lately. Not to mention a little brainstorming help from a current Patron...who I probably shouldn't mention by name in a Public Post without their permission. For the moment, I'll call that person DJ. Thank you DJ! 

2) Once the Eros Academy 2.0 update is out, I will immediately shift to working on the new game, with what should be fully completed design documents in hand at that point. My goal is to have an effectively uninterrupted update cycle, with the new game simply replacing Eros Academy. Right now, Eros update take roughly 2 months with the limited time I have. Therefore, the goal is to release the first alpha of The Sexy Cosplay Café game roughly 2 months after the Eros 2.0 release.

3) The Patreon will be getting an overall after the Eros Update. Everything from the main image to the reward tiers will be altered...but never fear if you're already a patron! I will be adding things to the current tiers, for the most part, meaning you'll hopefully be getting MORE stuff, rather than losing anything. The new rewards will include the smaller updates for Eros Academy that will become part of the monthly reward structure.

....There's probably something else I meant to say, but it's 6:00 and I haven't slept yet. I'll edit it in later if I forgot something important...

All of that stuff aside! I figured I'd also say a little bit about the image used for this post! 

While I'll give more details when I've locked more down, the simple form of things is that I'm intending to focus on just 5 characters for the first few alpha releases of the new game. That number is intended to expand to 10(possibly 11), in the fullness of time, but in order to get a functional game out at decent speeds, I'm locking the first few updates to a restricted number of characters.

The above artwork contains the concept line-art for those five initial characters! Keep in mind that this is only concept art. All of it is subject to change, and there are still some errors in places. In example, I'm marked several changes I need to make to "Serena," including both her outfit choice and some changes to how her eyes are drawn to get her a bit more in line with what I picture the character as. I'm also still learning to color them...which is something I've never done before. So expect them to change somewhat before release :-).
