General Update

So... Good News, Good News, Bad News

Good News 1: For those of you still at the appropriate patron tier, the extra for this month is almost finished. I chose to do an Mixed Media Short largely as Jaylee needed a break, badly, from the short story series. Hopefully, next month she'll be up to another short, which will leave me more time for game renders.  I have all renders done for the MMS, but I'm still writing the actual story. Expect to see it a bit late, likely either late tomorrow or sometime Saturday.

Good News 2: Now that I'm actively working on things, I've been beginning to line up renders for the next date. I was a little surprised that Naomi's coffee shop/cafe date won the polls by a large margin, but it's actually one of the easiest possible combinations for me. Naomi's model, in example, renders in less time than any other character model, and the cafe isn't overly intensive either. I don't yes have an exact timeline for getting it done, but I'll try to have one sometime in the next week or so.

Bad News: So, the job training that was sucking all my time? It was going fantastic!... Right up until I apparently made a sarcastic comment (it's in my nature, I can't stop myself and they are never mean spirited, usually they make people laugh -_-) some over sensitive little prick took offense...and filed a complaint. Which, apparently, was grounds for instant contract termination during the training period, even though all my mentors and the senior people working with me didn't want to.

Which means that, worse than square 1, I'm actually now in much much worse shape than I was before I quit freelancing for this new job. Namely, because I quite freelancing and sadly can't just pick it up easily again. There was a reason  I was pouring god-awful amounts of time into getting the training right. I'd taken a pretty big risk with it and needed it to pay off. So that sucks.

What this means for the game is two-fold.

1) I had earmarked several new assets I wanted to purchase for the game that would have made my life easier. This has now been postponed indefinitely. Meaning updates won't come any faster than they had been, despites my high hopes that they would under the new model (once things stabilized).

2) I'm going to be spending a LOT of my personal time trying to either find a new job, or reestablish my freelancing work. Probably both. I honestly have NO idea what this will mean for update speed. I won't stop working on the game...but being able to pay rent and put food on the table is kinda important. So unless the game starts actually paying, it's going to have to take a very distant back seat to immediate needs of reality.
