Sometimes a photo offers direct inspiration- there is a man on a nude beach, or you can see him getting pantsed directly. Other times, I have to work at pulling a story from a photo just because I find the man attractive. In this photo, there was just a nice ass pointed right at me, and I gave myself a challenge. Pick one object to write a story about and just see where it took me...

One dropped pen is all it took to completely embarrass me in the office.

I was in a state of flow at work as I transcribed the video that I had playing through my headphones. I was typing as the audio played, and I only paused to write down notes for myself when I went back to edit later. I was locked in and feeling good about it. I was new to the company, and I had a bigger caseload than I’d grown accustomed to at my last office, and I desperately wanted to show that I could handle it. Today though, I ended up showing something completely different…

As I pressed play again on my audio, I got back to typing for a solid three minutes, no breaks needed to catch up. Finally pressing the space bar and reaching for my pen to write down a note to message the author about after lunch, I accidentally pushed it off the side of my desk. Leaning over to grab it, I almost caught my headphone cord on the armrest, and I carefully laid my headset down to prevent the embarrassment of fumbling over them.

I was currently sitting in a maze of cubicles, and I could now hear my neighbor behind me on a phone call that I’d been apparently tuning out for the past hour.

Leaning over again, I realized that the pen had rolled out of my grasp, so I pushed my chair back a bit and knelt down to grab it. Carefully scooting back to keep from bumping my head on the desk, I was impressed that I was two for two on preventing me from embarrassing myself.

Unfortunately, I would not go three for three…

Sitting back up, everything seemed to happen in slow motion even though the ordeal probably only took two seconds. As I got up, I somehow hooked my jeans onto my chair- I’m not sure if the armrest hooked onto my waistband or maybe the lever to recline it somehow got wedged into a belt loop. Whatever the reason, I felt my jeans coming down as I was going up. Already in motion, I couldn’t stop until I felt the denim waistband against my thighs… my exposed thighs.

“Oh fuck!”

I might have been able to save myself and cover up, but that exclamation got a few too many eyes looking my way as my coworkers walked around the aisles of the cubicles. I’d yelled because I should have felt my jeans rubbing against the fabric of my boxer briefs, but I had opened my underwear drawer this morning to see that I didn’t have any there. I had been neglecting laundry, and I didn’t have any options.

So, on the worst day possible, I had decided to go commando. My pale, bare ass was now exposed in the office. Finally grabbing my jeans, I yanked them up and turned around to whisper an apology to Bill behind me on the conference call, but the words stuck in my throat as I locked eyes with him.

His eyebrows were arched up on his forehead in surprise, and his mouth hung open, just as quiet as I was. Looking past him, I saw the man in the cubicle behind him standing up now, and below him, I realized what had made this situation even worse. Bill had been on a video call, and I saw that his camera was on. His camera that had me clearly in frame.

“Bill, did it-“

“Yes.” My face fell- I could only make out a few of the faces on screen, but my boss was one of them. “And the meeting is being recorded as well.”

Slumping down into my chair, I knew that these recordings had to be catalogued just like every document that we sent in to be approved, so some secretary somewhere would have to watch this video as well.

Bill tried to say something else, but I just had to turn around and somehow keep working. With the pen that started it all still in my hand, I racked my brain for what I’d even wanted to write down, but a replay of me flashing the office was the only thing running through my head.
