Nomax sprite v2
Added 2023-10-13 17:59:32 +0000 UTCOpened the poll a few days ago where the 10$+ peeps could vote for which characters should undergo a v2 overhaul next after Wolf, and Nomax was the winner!
So here we are. Comparisons for both clothed and nude and then the regular 4k images.
Not too much change to the character itself, was decently happy with him which is probably no surprise given how often I draw him compared to any of the others. But a touchup was still well appreciated for him, I think.
The clothes saw a much bigger overhaul. Originally the black dress was just vaguely related to the time period, with plenty of more playful design decisions, but for the v2 I shifted that more to a somewhat traditional design for the period. We're keeping the sleek black of course, which at the time most likely would have been much more colorful, but what can I say, something about that simple black and gold. Yet bringing in some more accents, the more flamboyant cravat and the vest worn in the open.
Might not really need the gold sash with the vest already providing the secondary detailing, but I just like 'em!
His bits got a little bit of an adjustment as well which isn't seen here. Just like the rest, some refinement basically. Tomorrow I'll go over the expressions to make sure they all still fit into it and also try to get his lighting done. His was one of the worst overlays, so that is the most urgent v2 change, really.

2023-10-14 06:56:18 +0000 UTCDefinitely looks sharper; I think I like the change in color / tone from red to blue more than anything, looking at them side-by-side. The old lapels had a neat design, though! Oh also, his tail got a bit of a flick-curl to it! Cute. <3

2023-10-14 00:26:49 +0000 UTCYeah, sometimes all you need is some brush spacing! Always works great for anything that repeats like that. Same in the new outfit with the detailing, just a different way to use the spacing there.
