What To Expect: February 2023

January was definitely less chaotic, compared to the last couple months; I sent my old PC parts to a friend of mine in exchange for a personal commission, I had a brief check-up with a temporary doctor (my last one quit around Thanksgiving), and the last week and a half has been a mix of watching better Scooby-Doo shows and writing the Moonlit Brew script for the first time in what felt like forever.

Seriously, this was probably the first time I had the motivation to write a lot of stuff for the comic since pre-pandemic! Obviously, I can't tell you what exactly I've been writing, outside of the fact it's the rest of the scene, but it will be super important, since it sets up the comic right where I want it to be; it's taken years of setting up the characters and the setting, but we finally can get to the synopsis that I first wrote when this was just a tiny newborn. 

I'll definitely go into more detail, by the time we get to the end of the scene, but around the time I was re-writing Chapters 3 and 4 (around 2015-17), I was honestly struggling with figuring out where to go next with the story, so I had to take it a little bit at a time as I figured out how exactly I was going to set this up, especially while balancing that with trying to keep it entertaining for you guys. 

It was a struggle for the next couple of years, and I eventually got burnt out from when I was going through the vicious cycle of artists coming and going (either due to them leaving, and/or not giving any updates in months), and the Patreon reflecting this. This was part of why I started ACES, so I wouldn't get completely burnt out on writing MB, and I'd be able to write another story that I could update with another artist, during that downtime. Of course, it didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped, at first, but thankfully, Eli came in and saved the day for both comics.

All I have left to write for this scene is the very end, and then I'll be able to have time to write more of ACES Chapter 3; I had to rewrite the beginning of it, since the gag I originally made to start it off would not really leave any room to do as much character building as I would like.

For now, we're almost caught up with our pages for the month; Eli is working on the last 2 NSFW pages for the month, and then we will talk about the schedule for February's pages over on the Discord! Sorry this post took a while to get made; I was struggling to write this page for a while, but know that I've been hard at work with script-writing for both comics!
