What To Expect: January 2023

A little late with this post, but a LOT happened since writing my 2022 in review post;

Just when I thought Christmas was the ultimate microcosm of the year of chaos that was 2022, it was actually the last week of the year. My Santa gift for this christmas was an RTX 4080, and I thought I was only gonna have to get a new case, since those graphics cards are massive in size, but oh boy, was I in for a shock:

I not only needed a new motherboard, but I also needed a brand new power supply and a couple of extra fans to make sure this (mostly) new PC would keep cool, and since I was already spending a good chunk of change on these new parts, I figured I might as well spend the extra $100 and upgrade to 32GB of RAM, for good measure (thanks, Returnal!). But then, my main hard drive suddenly failed! The good news was that it wasn't completely bricked, so it got cloned to a replacement hard drive that was thankfully covered by my warranty. I just got my PC back yesterday, and it runs games beautifully; Portal RTX is now actually playable! XD

So, all of the old parts (my 3080, with the motherboard, PSU, and case) are going to be sent to a friend of mine on Tuesday, in exchange for a pretty big comic I'm commissioning that she'll be posting in the future. The only thing they'll be on their own with will be the CPU and hard drives, which I transferred over to my new PC.

With that out of the way, Eli is going to start drawing the next Moonlit Brew and ACES pages on the 2nd (so, today, depending on where you're reading this), and we have a spicy page with Frankie and Alfred, after those are done! And then, we will work on more of the usual pages, as we try to get back to our normal schedule. I might also see if I can get one of my overdue SFW drawings made (I'm thinking of either doing something retro or pirate-themed), this month, but I'll have to see how this pans out, first.

I'm hoping to start writing again, as well, now that all the chaos I mentioned earlier is finally behind me. I guess my new year's resolution this year is to try and be more productive, and have more fun (and less chaos) doing it. 

I wish you guys a fantastic 2023, and while it's still the 1st as I'm writing this, a happy 4th birthday to the Artifact Collection & Extraction Squad! Moonlit Brew will also be turning 10 in June, so hopefully, we'll think of something really neat for that comic, by then!
