What To Expect: August 2021

July has been a bit more eventful than anticipated, hasn't it? The Olympics was about to be cancelled, then started, anyway, COVID cases have been seesawing, and we even had actual rain in Southern California... for a few hours.

So, as I mentioned earlier, Karolyne got accepted into what I believe is some kind of internship program with someone who has experience in the professional comics industry, and because of that, she couldn't continue making Moonlit Brew content.  The good news, is that about a week later, Ataribetch (the previous artist for the comic, for those who don't know) will be coming back and making new pages, starting this month! I took a shot in the dark by shooting him a message over on DA, and he agreed, so I don't have to worry about making an artist search that would've no doubt been a very tall order. >>

Currently, I'm debating whether or not to cease making touch-ups, since Karolyne wouldn't be able to work on the comic anymore, and just get to making one new page every month. As of right now, I'm still only able to afford one page per month with the current pledge totals (which sadly, still seems to be very fluid from month to month), but if things get better to where I can start doing more than one page per month (Let's say, for example, starting at roughly $135-140 per month, where I would feel comfortable starting to make 2 pages per month again), I will definitely give that some serious consideration! I might need to make slight adjustments in the future since Ataribetch's rates have changed slightly since I last worked with him, but we'll worry about that, once he gets used to the comic again. :)

So, in August, pending things go smoothly, Chapter 5 Page 44 will be made as we welcome the old guard back! 

Nothing much has changed on the ACES front; C2P27's final sketch is being worked on, as we speak, but Eli has made some... "steamy" artwork/pages over at the Discord! I might plan on making a SFW drawing for August, but we will need to discuss a theme (maybe it could be vaporwave-themed, or something. ) Afterwards, expect Chapter 2 Pages 28-31!

In personal news, the trip to Disney World I had planned for months got cancelled, due to my family being nervous about the spike in COVID cases in Florida. I'm not too bummed about it, partially because most of the money I paid for it will be refunded, and that money will go towards that trip to Japan, next year; I'm gonna be going to Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea, anyway. As for where I'm going on vacation this year, It'll probably be either San Luis Obispo or Las Vegas, but we're most likely gonna go to the former since 1. It's boiling hot in Vegas, this time of year (and we don't really want to go while it's 120 degrees like last time), and 2., they're also having problems with COVID cases, just like in Florida.

With all that, I guess that's all I have to say; the moral of this month seems to be that you don't want to be bummed about things for too long, because things will work out in the end... If you're lucky, anyway. I'm thankful that I can continue Moonlit Brew for the time being, and that I don't have to worry about chapter 5 having to end abruptly, because I have plans. 8I
