Arms waving wildly, you strain your lungs with a pair of loud shouts.
Within moments, the dragon's flight pattern changes. A wingtip grazes the lake's surface as it skews diagonal. With its rapid approach on the horizon, the beast's dark form becomes more clear.
You swallow; the closer it gets, the more you question your decision to grab its attention. ----
Violent gusts from its wingbeats stir the land around you. Grass uproots and swirls around your diminutive form; trees bow at the arrival of the imposing creature.
Looking up in awe, your foot catches the chain restraining you. You stumble backwards, rump hitting the cold ground.
The beast's paws meet land and its bright eyes set upon you with curiosity. "Well then...? What's all this about?" the dragon's chillingly smooth, albeit bassy voice is tinged with amusement.
A lump in your throat causes you to choke and cough... a dignified reply on your part.
Rows of pointed teeth flash. The dark being's eyes squint with glee once it takes notice of your restraints. It folds its wings and pads closer. ----
The scent of ash and smoke overwhelm your senses. The beast crouches uncomfortably close to you. At the very least, the warmth that's emanating from its mighty body provides strange comfort...
You stay statue-still when a hefty forepaw extends; thick digits examine your restraints with surprising delicacy.
Before long, the dragon's hulking skull lowers itself to your level. Lips part and a laser-focused stream of blue flame singes the chain holding your prisoner. It slowly reels back its muscular neck, appearing pleased with the results.
