The Plan
Added 2019-07-06 00:34:47 +0000 UTCI’ve finished the outline! The screenplay itself is underway, although just five pages in. I’m still working out how big each weekly posting is going to be; I’ll probably have a better sense of that when I’m farther along. I’d like to be able to stretch it out a bit, but I also don’t want the bits to be so short they don’t feel like they’re advancing the story.
During the past month or two I’ve made all the posts free, but patrons have been effectively funding the writing of that outline along with the various brainstorming documents, which is a lot of text. (I may try to find a way to share that with higher-level patrons if you’re interested.) When the actual screenplay scenes start getting posted later this month, here’s the plan:
- The first few scenes will be “early access” posts. If you’re on the $3 or higher level tier, you’ll get them when posted. They’ll release to everyone a few days later.
- After that, the scenes will only be available to the $3 or higher level tier patrons, just like the chapters from Saida & Autumn.
After the screenplay’s finished, what then?
The $9 and higher subscribers will get the PDF of the screenplay for free. And I’ll see about making it available as an ebook to everyone, although there are some logistics to work out in that regard. I’m not sure whether I’ll release the whole of the screenplay for free or not, but it’ll almost certainly be an ebook first.
(And, yes, $9 and higher subscribers from the Saida & Autumn days are due an ebook version of that, I know. I promise I haven’t forgotten! I’m primarily waiting on the cover art.)
Will there be illustrations of scenes from the screenplay? I hope so. I don’t have any plans made for that, but I’d love to get ahead of that goal this time. We’ll see.
In the meantime, thanks for sticking with this admittedly crazy experiment! I can’t wait for you all to meet the cast.
