I am unsure. tho if you install it and bugs start showing up then Maybe best idea is to fix the frame issue other then getting script. very unsure anyways up to you

2021-07-07 04:41:08 +0000 UTCIf only problem persist in Dark Maze. Splitting map would suffice. I could see the map can divide up to 3 parts. As they're 'no return' point. - Entry to broken save point. - Middleway before chase. - Chasing phase. Work to be done is simply cut the map directly and try to maintain any items to be seen. At least this will eliminate a bunch of unused event, may help the lagging.

2021-07-07 02:02:50 +0000 UTCI would say since you don't know programming, I wouldn't recommend scripts. A lot of old top-down games would have the map split by smaller sub-areas. This can easily be done by instead of having 1 large map, have multiple, smaller areas (separated by loading zones, when you step onto a door, like most other areas in the game, the screen fades to black and fades into the other level). This will narrow the amount of processing the engine runs to just the room the player is in. Earlier I suggested those yarn balls to be animated, since when you interact with it, it said it was “moving as if alive”. And yes, it may cause performance issues, but not so much if the level is divided into individual rooms.

If you install now, expect to commit much time to doing nothing but debugging, with little visible progress. I do not mind either way, but would prefer ultimately the script be installed.

2021-07-06 15:18:03 +0000 UTCI would like to know how widespread performance issues are maybe. With the 4.1GHz boosted clock, the Dark Maze is no problem, but how many people have a CPU like that? And is that much speed really necessary? But my gut feeling is possibly yes, because the most common complaint with Special is the performance in some areas... you wouldn't be able to only run this script selectively in a few maps, right?
