Thanks for the chapter I just recently subbed because I couldn't wait for the next release! Even cut back on snacks and sweets in my life so I could, I'm ironically eating healthier because of it lmao. I'm a little confused by the chapter number though, I came off chapter 65 but its 96 here, is there a patreon exclusive chapter to be found?

So much content! How can a person even comment on everything? I really appreciated what you did with every interaction this chapter. Can't wait for Hinata's mother's healing.

2025-08-24 05:22:07 +0000 UTCIf I had to take a guess, a lot of OG manga/anime readers insert themselves so deeply into Naruto’s shoes that whenever someone, Sakura, says something hurtful (“orphan” in Chapter 2), they take it as a personal attack. In the story, Sakura was twelve and she absolutely learns her lesson when Sasuke tells her off later, but fandom still bashes her for that moment. It’s a case of too much immersion: people forget it’s a story and expect every interaction to cater to their emotional investment. That same mentality fuels why fanfic often doubles down on Naruto’s misery, making his life “so awful” and painting every character as against him while glossing over the trauma Kakashi, Jiraiya, Tsunade, and so many others carry from a world at war.

Side note, why doesn’t everyone realize that people like Kakashi and all other ninja’s are probably traumatized and not functioning properly due to being children of war? That shit would explain why even ninja’s like The Pervy Sage acts the way he does. Everyone is dysfunctional in this world as a ninja.

The Toad Sage question: I’m assuming you mean Jiraiya or maybe the Great Toad Elder who gave the whole prophecy spiel. Naruto in this story wouldn't exactly "go ape shit" on him, he’s more indifferent to the prophecy stuff. He might just tell Jiraiya to cut the fate talk and stop putting people in boxes. This Naruto doesn’t care about destiny, just action and choice. 2. Naruto vs. Hiruzen: That arc’s kind of already happened. Between Chapters 10 to 20, Naruto was furious with Hiruzen. But this story’s also about growth. Naruto may not forgive everything, but he’s reached a place where he can understand Hiruzen’s failures. Moving forward, if the old man wants to build a relationship based on truth and trust, Naruto’s willing to give him that chance. And yeah, with the Chunin Exams coming up, Hiruzen might actually take an active role in training Naruto. 3. Fast travel trees: No solid answer on this yet. Still thinking it through. I like the idea maybe only certain trees work as waypoints, tied to key emotional or spiritual moments for Naruto. We’ll see. 4. Favorite character to write? Solaire, hands down. That guy just writes himself. And of course, DS1 Naruto. He’s complex, driven, and unpredictable, everything I love in a protagonist. Thanks again for reading. Can’t wait to show you what’s next.

But first I should answer the question about the toad sage ( names suck to spell) is really want to see Naruto go ape **** on him especially considering that this version of Naruto is not as naive as canon Naruto. Now I ask questions... first will narutos trees ask like fast travel way points? If so will will it only be some trees or all trees, next question will Naruto get angry at the 3rd hokage ( again names suck) and final question that is only slightly related which of the characters in this story is your favorite to write assuming you have one Ps this a amazing story and I can't wait to see what happens next

But since my goal is to stay consistent with canon to a certain extent, I worked it in so that a lot of Minato and Kushina’s assets were used up or seized by the village over time (whether for “security” reasons or buried in bureaucracy). Whatever remained eventually made its way into Naruto’s hands. It’s not ideal, but it fits the tone and gaps canon left open.

2025-07-27 22:20:50 +0000 UTCYeah the village would seize assets, but not of families with remaining family members, and certainly not that of the hero hokage, his wife, and their surviving infant son, who also happens to be the ultimate weapon of a hidden village who might find out and be less than pleased. Re: Jiraya, he deserves just as much hate as Hiruzen gets. He has value as a teacher, but not as a mentor, role-model, or parent figure IMO. He'd also be an interesting way to expose the Summoning realm false assumption.
