Author Note: Update

Author’s Note

Hey everyone! I know you’ve all been eagerly waiting for the continuation of the story, and I’m excited to say the next chapter is already written and will be uploaded in just a few hours. I’m currently proofreading it to make sure everything flows smoothly.

Update for Tier 1 Patrons:
Chapters 60 to 75 are now available for Tier 1 on Patreon! Thank you all for your support!

Now, let’s address the big question:
Why was this update delayed? Was the chapter super long?

Actually, no—the chapter is around the usual 8k words. The real reason for the delay is... you guys. And I mean that in the best way possible.

I’ve received tons of feedback from all of you across platforms—Patreon, Royal Road, SpaceBattles, Webnovel, and more. Many of your questions and insights have sparked new ideas or pointed out plot holes I missed. Because of that, I went back and made some changes to several previous chapters to keep the story strong and coherent.

Chapters Affected: 57 to 65

If you’re planning to reread those chapters, I recommend doing so now. Below this line, I’ll be going over the changes in detail—and yes, spoilers ahead if you haven’t caught up.

Chapter 57 - Revised

Originally, this chapter focused on Hinata’s backstory and her reaction to seeing Naruto and Kiba getting along.

New Addition:
Instead of Hinata’s mother being killed, she’s now in a vegetative state. This change was based on reader feedback suggesting it would make more political sense for Kumo to suffer a greater loss (the death of their jonin) while Konoha only had a paralyzed person. This justifies Kumo’s demand for Hiashi’s life as compensation.
This also opens the door for a potential future moment where Naruto might use a healing miracle or Estus Flask to help Hinata’s mother.

Chapter 58 - Revised

Originally, this chapter had Naruto and Kurenai training for one-handed hand seals, and Team 7 plotting a stealthy way to get Estus to Kakashi—with a comedy moment of Sakura trying to set up Kakashi with Kurenai.

New Addition:
Now, Hinata joins Naruto as his one-handed seal training partner. Instead of sneaking in, Team 7 demands to see Kakashi. Sakura even puts up a barrier to keep Kurenai out while Naruto and Sasuke give Kakashi the Estus Flask. The result?
Kakashi’s Sharingan eye is fully healed.
This means he no longer suffers from chakra drain due to the transplant.

This change came after a reader asked a great question: if the Estus Flask can heal and regenerate, what would it do to Kakashi’s eye, especially since the transplant was done hastily during war? I loved the idea and decided to explore it—Naruto healing Kakashi properly adds another layer to their trust.

Chapter 59:

Originally, this was the market scene with Naruto and Tsunami, where her words shake Naruto’s beliefs.

In the new version, the core of the chapter remains the same—but now includes a new scene where Kurenai and Kakashi discuss Jiraiya’s absence. It’s revealed that Jiraiya has been summoned by the Great Toad Sage due to a new prophecy, as Naruto’s actions in Lordran have shattered the old “Child of Prophecy” timeline. It’s a subtle but important lore moment.

Chapter 60:

Originally, this was Naruto returning to Lordran and speaking with Siegmeyer and Andre.

The update mostly changes their dialogue. Inspired by a reader’s comment, I added a discussion between Naruto and Siegmeyer about the value of a soul—a quiet but powerful moment that deepens the themes of the story.

The age old question of whats more important, the group or the individual? A hard question, but one with a admittedly easy, if dark answer.

What is the value of either?

As dark as it may sound, everything Naruto did in this chapter is mostly justified. Be it him hurting the man trying to pick pocket him or him beating up those goons for intimidation and extortion, he was doing something that either protected himself or others.

The same could not be said about Tsunami.

Tsunami is quite hypocritical give she is letting her father build the bridge, she talks about how Naruto actions done nothing but probably made the situation worse. No, what she said is that she doesn't want to be 'burnt' again after losing Kaizi, she says that Gato and his goons will just make a example out of the people involved. But the problem is, is that Gato is already doing that, that thief wasn't pick-pocketing for his own gain, he was doing it to survive and was about to be made example of till Naruto got involved.

Naruto has shown more worth in those moments then anyone else in that situation alone because he choose to do something, the same could not be said for Tsunami and the Villagers. Yes power is a factor but from what we have seen in this chapter, fear of harm and/or death has been the sole reason the situation has got this bad.

Gato's men are happy to kill and hurt the Waves, and the people just let them to live another day. That ain't living, so Naruto's answer should be simple.

"What is the value of such a meager soul?" Kill something weak in any souls game, you get little soul. Kill something that can fight back and you get more, the meek have less worth in this dark world

---

Chapter 61:

This is still Naruto vs. the Titanite Demon. I didn’t touch the fight much, but I did tweak what happens afterward—minor changes, but worth a glance if you’re curious.

---

Chapter 62:

This one had the biggest change.

In the original, Naruto killed one of Gato’s gang members and the gang reacted.

In the new version, Naruto kills all of them—the entire gang. And their reactions hit way harder.

Sasuke is reminded of Itachi. Sakura questions why Naruto feels nothing. Hinata watches the villagers celebrate and wonders why violence works.

I added a lot of character depth and rewrote the massacre scene to be intense and emotionally layered. If there’s one chapter I’d recommend rereading—it’s this one.

---

---

Chapter 63:

Old Version: Kakashi tries to talk sense into Naruto.
New Version: Kakashi explains why he lied to Team 7 and 8, claiming the killings were his orders. He talks about the limits of shinobi freedom and opens up about the political reasoning. This leads to a deeper conversation between Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto—especially around the Uchiha Massacre, and whether Itachi felt anything when he killed.

---

Chapter 64:

Old Version: Kurenai teaches Naruto about shinobi law. Gato tries to burn down the market.
New Version: Naruto learns that the people of the Wave have started calling him "The Archer of Providence." They found arrows on the corpses of the gang members, even though Naruto used a crossbow. This title begins to shape how the people see him.

---

Chapter 65:

Old Version: Team 7 helps stop the market fire.
New Version: Team 7 deals with a ship full of explosives, leading to major destruction. Naruto dons the Archer identity and helps heal the injured using Estus. He tells the people of the Wave that he’s not there to save them—they need to save themselves.
Tsunami, who once gave up hope, apologizes to Naruto for her earlier nihilism. Naruto tells her that the end isn’t the bridge—it’s Gato’s death. But with Zabuza in the way, Naruto knows he has to get stronger. So he returns to Lordran.

---

These updates mean I’ll also be tweaking a few lines of dialogue in Chapters 65 through 82—just minor adjustments to keep continuity smooth. Nothing major, but worth noting.

If you’ve got the time, I definitely recommend re-reading Chapters 59 to 65. If not, just keep these changes in mind—they’ll play a big role going forward.

Thanks again for all your amazing feedback and support. You guys make this fanfic something special.

Stay tuned—new chapter dropping in a couple of hours.

Comments

Oh, yeah. I have only managed to rewrite till chapter 65 where the major stuff was needed. Chapter 66 and onwards just have some small bits here and there that need changing. Nothing too major. I'll get to it after I upload the latest chapter

Muhammad Hasnain

I think you need to check on Chapter 66 also since it's still got bits from the Market fire. Unless, you are planning on redoing those parts when you repost to Spacebattles, thanks for the hard work.

Mystbornwolf

Probably not since that would take away the importance of the different type of weapons that Naruto can use from dark soul. But the possibility of Naruto making energy arrows is still there.

So.... will Naruto learn how to create sword from chakra and throw them at his ennemies? You know, like all Archer do?
