Rendering Skin Tones - The Video!

I was hoping to have this done a week ago, but "factors beyond my control" interfered (including a work schedule that had me doing a seven-day stretch between days off - time off I was hoping to use to assemble and post this video).

But finally, here it is. Enjoy, and (although I do insist in the video that this isn't "how to do it" as much as it is "how I do it") I hope you can learn something you can use in your own art.

And speaking of work schedules... I'm waiting anxiously for mine for next week; it'll determine when I'll be able to make and post the January Q and A. If (as I hope) I go back to my usual Monday and Tuesday off, then that's time I can use to finish the Q&A. Heck, even Tuesday and Wednesday will do. If, however, I have Thursday and Friday off again (as I had this past week)... Thursday is the 31st, and I hate having to wait until the last day of the month to basically make the video. (There's stuff I can do in advance to prepare for it, of course, like making the slides for the questions, and collecting the graphics I'll need, but the actual recording, editing, saving and posting needs a solid day to accomplish.) So (and I seem to say this a lot lately)... wish me luck!

Thank you for sharing your process. It was interesting to watch. I never think about the blending mode of the brushes.

(well, I just posted a long comment, then realized it wasn't a direct reply to yours, thought I'd copied it, deleted, found out I forgot to copy it, now I have to write it all again. I'm such a klutz! anyway...) Thank you! Sometimes choosing the music is the most fun part. It's actually from the album "Trip Tease" by Tipsy (who I suspect are actually DJs/producers sampling jazz and lounge music into these weird "compositions"). Funny you should mention "forgotten Italian Space Opera"; two of the three tracks I used have "spacey" names: "Space Golf" https://youtu.be/hh-1QnrMklc and "Nude on the Moon" https://youtu.be/PzGx4oDDhAY (the third one is "Grossenhosen" https://youtu.be/mwNu2dqMHag ) ...as for layer blending, I usually just have mine on "normal" unless I need "multiply" for a special reason.

A couple of quick questions.... first off I've always loved you're music selections. What's the name of this one. Sounds like the lost soundtrack to a forgotten Italian Space Opera.... secondly what setting do you use for your layers. Mine is always set on multiply.
