Chapter no.368 The Horrors beneath the Landfill

[ POV Change ]
[ A Few Minutes Ago ]
The night sky was clear and full of stars, a perfect scene for the guard to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. He was stationed at the entrance of the landfill, a vast area surrounded by high walls. His job was to keep a watchful eye for any suspicious activity and to protect the landfill from any potential threats.
The guard was wearing a dark uniform, a bulletproof vest, and a cap with the word "SECURITY" embroidered in bold letters. He had a walkie-talkie on his belt, a flashlight in his pocket, and a gun on his holster. He was trained for any situation, but nothing could have prepared him for what was about to happen.
As he was looking up at the sky, he saw a blue blur coming towards him. He immediately grabbed his walkie-talkie and called for backup. "This is Security Guard number 6, I have a possible intruder approaching, requesting backup."
He released his trusted companion, a Steelix, from his pokeball, ready to attack. The Steelix emerged from the pokeball and roared, ready to defend its trainer.
The blue blur got closer and closer, and the guard felt his heart racing. He couldn't see what it was, but he knew it was fast. Suddenly, the blur jumped up, revealing himself to be a Lucario.
" Strong Style : Force Palm !"
The Lucario's body exploded out in aura as he launched a force palm, which was so strong that it hit the Steelix and threw it into the giant walls of the landfill, immediately destroying them.
The guard looked at the giant hole and Steelix's knocked out body in shock. He had never seen such power before. Lucario slowly walked in, and the guard tried to take out his gun, but Lucario glanced at him.
The Guard looked up to see Lucario glancing at him with a blue shine in his eyes.
The fear that enveloped the guard at that moment caused him to piss his pants.
" Boo !"
Lucario said as his face moved a little closer to Guard causing the poor man to pass out.
Lucario walked inside, and as he did, he saw many Team Rocket members' Pokemon charging at him. He smirked as his body exploded out in aura, cracking the ground beneath his feet. He knew he could take them all on, and he was ready for anything.
The Team Rocket members' Pokemon were coming at him from all directions. They were different sizes and shapes, but they all had one thing in common: they were ready to fight.
"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass." Lucario said while trying to find his bubblegum, " And I'm all out of bubblegum."
Lucario charged at the Pokemon, his body moving so fast that it created a gust of wind. He used his aura sphere to deflect the attacks and his force palm to knock out the opponents. The sound of Pokemon cries filled the air, and the ground shook with every hit.
Lucario was unstoppable, and the Team Rocket members knew it. They started to retreat, but Lucario wasn't done yet. He chased after them, his aura sphere growing bigger and brighter with each step.
The guard woke up, dazed and confused. He looked around, trying to understand what had just happened. He saw the giant hole in the wall and Steelix's knocked out body, and he knew he had to report it. He picked up his walkie-talkie and called for backup.
"This is Security Guard number 6, we have a breach in the landfill, requesting backup. We have a powerful Pokemon on the loose, and it's not friendly."
.....
[ A Few Minutes Later ]
The sound of sirens wailed in the distance as the police arrived at the landfill.
Looker's sharp eyes scanned the scene as he and the officers arrived at the destroyed landfill. The stench of decaying waste filled the air, mixed with the metallic tang of blood. The walls had been reduced to rubble, and the ground was littered with the injured and the unconscious, pokemons of various species and sizes sprawled everywhere.
Looker, dressed in his usual white suit, stepped forward to take a closer look. His heart sank as he saw the extent of the destruction. Tens of Crobats, Umbreons, Murkrows, Onix, Gyrados, and other large and small pokemons were knocked out or injured, their bodies writhing in pain. The ground shook slightly, and the sound of the groaning and moaning filled the air.
As he walked forward, Looker saw the injured guard lying on the ground, his eyes closed, feigning unconsciousness. He grabbed the guard by his collar, and as he did so, the man's eyes flickered open, and a look of terror crossed his face.
"Stop faking it," Looker barked. "What happened here?"
The guard, obviously scared out of his wits as Looker placed his gun on the man's head, stuttered out, "A Lucario, it was a Lucario. It was so fast and strong. None of us stood a chance."
"What is this place?" Looker demanded.
The guard stayed silent, his eyes darting nervously around. Looker jammed his gun into the man's face, and he started to squirm yet no words came out as if the guard was afraid of the consequences of revealing about this place more than death. Seeing no response, Looker jammed the gun into the guard's face knocking him out.
Suddenly, some of the officers walked forward and saw a giant sinkhole in the middle of the landfill. They released their pokemons and had them use flash to illuminate the area.
The light revealed that the sinkhole was not just a random hole in the ground but the entrance to a large base.
Looker and his team had descended deep into the base, their footsteps echoing against the walls of the damp, dimly lit tunnels. They were adorned in their standard police attire, with their sturdy bulletproof vests and weapons at the ready. The smell of decay and blood grew stronger the further they progressed, and the sight of injured and unconscious pokemon littering the floor made their stomachs churn.
What they saw was the rampage of a monster who fought in wars that made the present day's conflict look like a kindergarten fight.
They came across a series of branching tunnels, and Looker made the decision to split the group up in order to cover more ground. He tasked each team with exploring a different section of the base and reporting back with any findings. As they continued their search, the officers stumbled upon massive holes in the walls.
At first, they thought it was just a result of the recent attack, but as they peered through the holes, they realized that they were looking at a completely different section of the base. The officers saw that many of the Team Rocket members were lying on the ground, critically injured and with blood pouring out of them. Their pokemon were no better off, with deep cuts and bruises covering their bodies.
The officers rushed to help, carefully lifting the injured members of Team Rocket and their pokemon to safety. As they returned the pokemon and placed a lock on them while helping the wounded, they noticed that the injuries seemed life threatening at first were all made in such a way that the opponent would be immediately incapacitated.
Looker arrived just as the officers were finishing up with the wounded. He could see the confusion and concern etched on their faces. Something was not right about this base, and he knew that they needed to be extra cautious as they continued their search.
The sound of dripping water echoed through the labyrinthine tunnels, making each step taken by the group reverberate off the walls. A faint rustling of footsteps could be heard in the distance, a chilling reminder that they were not alone in these dark and foreboding corridors.
"Stay alert, everyone," Looker warned, his hand tightening around the grip of his weapon. "We don't know what we might encounter next."
The team of police officers and their Pokemon spread out, their eyes darting to every shadow, searching for any signs of danger. They were all clad in their standard issue uniform, the practicality of their attire being the least of their worries at the moment.
As they continued their descent into the depths of the tunnels, the darkness grew more suffocating, as though it was alive and trying to consume them. The stench of death also grew stronger, a putrid smell that seeped into every pore of their skin.
Suddenly, Lucario walked out from the corner, his aura pulsating with an intense energy that made the entire group freeze up. The Pokemon glanced at them with piercing eyes, as if he could see into their very souls. Abra teleported onto Lucario's shoulder, his small eyes surveying the frightened crowd.
"Uh, well, this is a delightful sight," Abra deadpanned in a sarcastic tone. "It's like a funhouse, except instead of clowns and cotton candy, we have death and despair."
Lucario and Abra teleported away, leaving the group to take a moment to catch their breath. But the relief was short-lived, as the group soon encountered a scene that would haunt them for years to come.
Rows upon rows of prison cells lined the walls, each one filled with both humans and Pokemon. The cells were cramped, with barely enough room to turn around. The bars of the cells were rusted and old, but sturdy enough to keep the prisoners inside.
At the bottom of each cell lay a table covered in blood and viscera, the remains of those whose organs had been harvested. The sound of flies buzzing around the decaying bodies filled the air, making the group want to retch.
Team Rocket members lay dead on the floor, their chests punched through with holes. The sight of their lifeless bodies was enough to make even the most hardened police officers tremble with fear.
Looker's hands shook as he pulled out his phone, urgently calling for backup. The others stood in stunned silence, their minds reeling with the horror of what they had just witnessed.

[ Omake Paragraph ]
Travelers are often warned against going off alone on dark nights or staying in black rooms, lest the eerie glow of an Umbreon's eight rings be the last thing they ever see, despite the fact that Umbreon are not adept assassins. Although they can sneak around extraordinarily well, they lack a Scyther's claws or even a Weedle's sting; it will typically take several blows for an Umbreon to fell its opponent, unless the target is a human whose pokeballs are dislodged with a single swipe of the paw.
Umbreon may attack without killing in a single strike, like most pokemon which haunt our nightmares, but they do not need to. Invisible except for their rings in darkness, Umbreon are a sturdy pokemon which heal themselves and become even harder to see by stealing the light of the moon. They strike from every angle, their flickering rings the only giveaway to their presence, for they are as silent as they are dark. Trainers have famously described fighting them as like catching Beldum, for the task is equally difficult and requires perfect precision.
And most importantly, Umbreon understand the value of a tactical retreat and of picking one's battles, and although this has been made them ignored by many a trainer or killer, it has allowed them a far greater chance of survival. When faced with a real possibility of defeat, they slink back into the shadows and wait for an easier food source to come by, be it Kirlia, Kadabra, or Man.
