Chapter no.341 A Draconic Problem part 2

In the corner of the room, a large group of Pokemon huddled together, their eyes filled with sadness as they gazed upon the motionless form of Charmeleon.
Scizor, Fearow, Pidgeot, Butterfree, Ivysaur, Wartortle, Ninjask, Rhyhorn, Clefable, Haunter, Krabby, Dragonair and countless others all stood together, some with tears in their eyes as they looked upon their unmoving comrade. Despite the many berries that had been brought to try and revive him, Charmeleon remained unresponsive, his tail flame dangerously dim.
Suddenly, the door to the living room slapped open as Austin, alongside Green and Yellow rushed in.
Suddenly, Austin came to a stop, his eyes fixed on Charmeleon's tail flame. It was barely flickering, and Austin could see that the Pokemon was unresponsive.
Austin slowly approached Charmeleon, his voice cracking as he spoke. "Charmeleon, buddy, wake up," he said, his voice filled with concern. He tried to gently shake the Pokemon awake, but there was no response.
As Austin's heart started racing, his mind projected a mental image of a dying Raticate over Charmeleon's unmoving body. Tears began to stream down his face as he realized that his beloved Pokemon was in serious trouble.
Austin sat there, his head in his hands as he stared blankly at the motionless form of Charmeleon.
Tears and snot were running down his face as he felt completely helpless. His mind was blank, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he had failed his beloved Pokemon. He felt as if he was on the brink of a mental breakdown, unable to process the reality of the situation.
Just as Austin was about to lose all hope, Lucario walked in. The powerful aura Pokemon took one look at Austin and without hesitation, he punched him in the face, sending him crashing to the floor. Pikachu and the other Pokemon looked on with heavy hearts as Lucario pointed his finger at Austin and exclaimed, "What in Mew's good name are you doing?!".
Lucario's words were harsh, but they were also exactly what Austin needed to snap out of his despair. He looked up at Lucario, tears still streaming down his face.
" I, I, I..." Austin couldn't make out any words as Lucario's red eyes glared back.
" Is this the human who freed me from my prison ? Was the human who claimed to want revenge .... so weak ?!" Lucario shouted forward causing Austin to close his eyes.
" Oi ! Don't close your eyes, you are the trainer, you are the man of this house ! Where is all the bravado ?! Where is all that confidence?!"
" I don't know !" Austin shouted back as Lucario's anger filled expression melted into a lose one as he sat on one knee and said.
" Well, we need that bravado back. We need you, you Mew damn idiot. Suck it up and tell us what to do," Lucario urged.
With Lucario's words of encouragement, Austin wiped away his tears and looked at all his pokemon.
With a deep breath Austin said," Chansey, use heal pulse on Charmeleon, Clefable and Abra lift the duo up. We need to get to Nurse Joy. Everyone else, go back to your pokeballs !"
Everyone nodded as Austin ran towards Nurse Joy, with Pikachu, Lucario, Green, and Yellow following close behind. The sound of their footsteps echoed through the Pokemon Center as they ran, the only other sound being the quiet beeping of machines and the occasional sob from a Pokemon left behind.
The air was thick with the smell of antiseptic, and the quiet whirring of machines could be heard in the background.
As they reached Nurse Joy's office, Nurse Joy looked up from her desk as they entered, her face filled with concern as she saw the motionless form of Charmeleon being treated by healpulse by a Chansey mid air.
" Nurse Chansey, get us a stretcher ! What happened?"
Nurse Joy rushed over to Austin, Yellow, and the others, who were standing beside the stretcher that held Charmeleon. She asked Austin a few medical questions about Charmeleon's condition and past health, her expression serious as she listened to his responses.
"When did you first notice that Charmeleon was unresponsive?" Nurse Joy asked, her pen poised over a clipboard.
"It was about a few minutes ago," Austin replied, his voice filled with worry. " He wasn't eating, responding and his tail flame was barely flickering." Yellow answered.
"Has Charmeleon had any recent battles or injuries?" Nurse Joy asked, her expression serious.
"No, he's been healthy and strong," Austin replied, his voice filled with concern.
"Has Charmeleon had any previous health issues or illnesses?" Nurse Joy asked, her pen scratching on the clipboard as she took notes.
"Not that I know of," Austin replied, his voice filled with uncertainty.
As they put Charmeleon on the stretcher, Nurse Joy and her team of Chansey rushed him to the ER. Austin, Yellow, and the others were stopped by a Chansey, who informed them that they could not enter the ER and that they had to wait outside.
The group watched on as the stretcher was rushed into the ER, their hearts heavy with worry. Yellow placed a comforting arm on Austin, her voice filled with reassurance as she said, "It's going to be okay, Austin. Charmeleon is in good hands."
Lucario tapped Austin's shoulders and exclaimed.
" There is a time to cry and a time for action."
Lucario's words seemingly broke the camel's back as Austin's lips quivered as he clenched his face trying to keep himself from crying.
" Ash, it ok to cry." Yellow sat as she hugged the transmigrator for felt like the world was swept away from his feet.
Austin hugged yellow back tightly, tears streaming down his face as he cried on her shoulder, Yellow's heart ached for him, she knew how much Charmeleon meant to him, the bond between a trainer and a Pokemon was stronger than anything. She wrapped her arms around him tightly, trying to convey all the love and support that she had for him in that embrace. Green and Pikachu joined in, consoling Austin as they waited for any news about Charmeleon.

[ Omake Paragraph ]
Most electric-type pokemon generate their own electricity, but Chinchou are unable to do so. Instead, they most absorb electricity from their surroundings, swimming after thunderstorms until they are struck by lightning, and feeding on other pokemon who are killed by their own weakness and the fact that water conducts electricity.
A thunderstorm is a feast for any Chinchou, but one too infrequent, unreliable, and seasonal to allow them enough food to survive. Although their evolved form of Lanturn can hunt by luring pokemon to their lights, Chinchou lights lack the brightness to draw water pokemon their way, and they are fragile enough that such a hunting method would be extremely dangerous for the hunter. Therefore, when too long has passed without one, Chinchou gather to create a thunderstorm of their own, discharging enough electricity into the water to kill all but the strongest fish within a one-mile radius. As a hunting method, it is complete overkill; the small Chinchou can not possibly consume that much food, and instead it creates an ample meal for scavengers like Pelipper.
"Chinchou" has therefore entered the language as an adjective to describe anything where the benefits of an activity are far outweighed by the destruction it caused. For instance, slash-and-burn agriculture is also called Chinchou agriculture, and like the Chinchou who move across the ocean, farmers who burn forests rotate from forest to forest, allowing them time to rebuild before burning again. The same can not be said, however, of the many "Chinchou factories" in cities like Celadon, where weak environmental protections allow factories to flood rivers with waste, killing water-types as surely as a Chinchou school's thunderbolts. For these factories, Chinchou themselves are among the victims, and the water remains poisonous for years if not generations
