Water drops were flowing along the curved side of the wall. Although it was a very small amount, it was the water of life that made me hold the string of life.
I frantically licked the wall.
It was only a little bit, but as the water entered my body, my hunger also went away a little or maybe it was my mind tricking me that I wasn't hungry.
After drinking enough water, my rationality returned little by little I think.
"Hu!"
I leaned my back against the wall and sighed.
As the water was supplied to the body that had been afflicted with a lack of nutrition, strength returned little by little to my dried up muscles.
I moved my arms and legs while breathing slowly.
As time went on, my joints were gently loosening. His muscles were also getting stronger or maybe this was all a trick my mind was playing to not lose hope.
When I had sufficient strength, l leaned my back against the wall and tried to stand up.
"Come one!"
A painful grunt came out of my mouth, and veins spurted out of my forehead.
Simply crawling on the floor and getting up with strength in both legs required a different level of strength and concentration of mind.
It was a painful challenge for someone who had been lying on the floor for a long time with his entire body paralyzed.
In my mind, I wanted to rest my back against the wall like before. But maybe I knew that if I laid myself to rest then the little sparks of hope in my heart would finally die out.
The fear of dying made me endured the pain and gave strength to my legs.
Both of who were trembled in cold sweat that flowed down like a waterfall from my body. All the water I drank a while ago seemed to be drained out as sweat.
"Turn the damn water works off!"
I clenched my teeth and inhaled deeply.
My body shook as if I was about to fall soon. However, somehow I, barely managed to hold on to my center of gravity.
I eventually stood up on my own two legs.
To think, this would be an accomplishment in my mind.
"Hoo!"
The breath that had been suppressed came out as I wheezed when I stood holding my thighs with both of my hands.
I couldn't confirm it because I couldn't see it, but I thought that hot steam would exude from my body.
That's how hot my body was.
Maybe I should've done this infront of those prostitute and showed them how hot my body was.
" Hehehe."
I chuckled at my own joke as I breath in and out waiting for the heat to subsided, I looked around.
All I could see was still a pitch black dark.
Never did I think I would be jealous of the animals that could see in the dark.
In the end, I gave up looking with his eyes, it's not like I was going to suddenly going to gain the ability to see in the dark.
Instead, I reached out and touched the wall in front of m.
The walls were slippery as if it had been washed by water.
I felt fine protrusions as well as bites on my hands.
'Moss?'
Moss is always present when there is water flowing. In particular, such a humid place was the optimal environment for moss to grow.
I skimmed the wall with the tip of his nail. When moss was caught on his nail, I ripped it off.
I couldn't tell what color the moss was, nor could I tell what kind it was.
Some moss is edible, but some can cause serious health problems. It could have been poisonous, or it could have harbored a disease.
I couldn't tell even if I had my eyes but now the only thing information I could get was from the sense of his fingertips.
I felt a twisting pain in my stomach.
The hunger that I had forgotten for a while suddenly came back.
Drinking water was nothing more than a temporary measure. I had to eat something.
My fingertips alone wouldn't be enough to tell if the moss was edible. Still, the fact that I was holding moss in his hand made my mouth salivate.
Placing the moss down, I touched the walls.
Don't eat it, it could be poisonous.
Don't eat it, it could be poisonous.
Like I mantra I told myself as touched the walls but my mouth salivated at the thought of eating.
The brushing of moss against my skin didn't help at all.
After a few minutes my hunger overpowered the sane part of my mind as
Now was the time to eat something, I didn't care if it's poison, I didn't care if this would me my last meal.
I just wanted to eat.
Taking a handful of moss, I shoved it into my mouth as an indescribable hellish taste attacked my tongue. The taste was so terrible that I gagged and almost threw up.
But I didn't want to waste this "food" even if it was poisonous as i tried not to sit down in my current state, since it would be impossible to get up again, I forced myself to hold on.
Water dripped from my eyes and nose even if the taste was horrendous, I still had worse.
My mind flashed to my earliest memory I had where I held onto the finger of a woman who could've been my mother, I didn't know.
All I knew was that she had left me in some kind of fields and she never came back.I didn't know why but I managed to survive being abandoned in this cruel world.
I didn't know why my mind flashed to that memory but I did not throw away the moss in my hand despite my streaming tears and running nose.
Hell was unfolding in my mouth, but fortunately I didn't feel any abnormality in other parts or maybe the poison would act up after a few minutes.
At this point, I wished the poison would put me out of my misery.
After I few minutes I didn't feel any other abnormalities except that his taste buds were numb.
It meant it was edible.
Damnit and here I was hoping that I would get the sweet release of death.
I hastily scraped the moss and brought it to my numb mouth. I no longer felt the taste of hell. It was painful nonetheless, but once I got used to it, it was tolerable.
Deaddeck!
I randomly scraped the wall and collected moss. When it is collected to a certain extent, I put it in my mouth, and repeated the act again.
'I can live. I can live somehow.'
Chewing the moss, I murmured to myself.
Great, looks like I had finally lost it.
My tongue was almost paralyzed, and my voice never came out of my mouth, but my spirits were firm like a teenagers desire to procreate.
As I chewed on the moss, a desire began to emerge in my heart.
I had to survive and get revenge on the man who imprisoned me here and if I can't do that then at the very least, I would find out the reason why I had been imprisoned here.
I didn't know how much of the moss had been scraped off.
There was no feeling of satiety. Still, the hunger went away to some extent.
My tongue continued to tingle as the numbing feeling wore off a little.
I caressed the area around my mouth with my hand. Fortunately, after some time, the sensation of my tongue returned to normal.
I thought I was lucky or maybe fate had other plans for me and kept me alive.... yeah, right.
I made a gamble that risked my life.
I doesn't know how big the space I was trapped in, but there's a lot of moss on the wall, so I will be able to hang on to my life for the time being. Of course, I will have to endure that hellish taste every time.
I rested while standing for a while after which I began to move, putting my hand on the wall.
It was to estimate the size of the space in which I was confined.
As I walked about ten steps with my left hand against the wall, a dead end appeared. It was blocked by the wall.
I walked again along the blocked wall. Again, after about ten steps, a wall appeared.
'A rectangular space of about three square meters.'
It was only then that I began to visualize the size and shape of the space in which I was confined.
I continued walking along the wall.
Chin!
Then something was caught in my fingertips.

[ Chen Dynasty - Imperial Palace ]
About a decade before the nameless child was thrown into the mysterious prison, in a land far far away a miraculous act was occuring.
( ~ Crack ~ )
( ~ BOOM ~ )
( ~ CLAP ~ )
As if the Gods were bellowing out in anger, the thunderclap could be heard from miles away.
( ~ RUSH ~ )
The winds were strong enough to cause at least light damage to trees as the flora of the land danced to the tunes of the wind.
( ~ PATTER ~ )
The storm took the imperial palace into an onward night, regardless of neither time nor sun, yet came the booming exclamations of heaven and lightning to restart the heart.
( ~ RUMBLE ~ )
The servants, guards, the imperial scholars and ministers waited in silence outside the Empress's room.
( ~ RUMBLE ~ )
Everyone of the palace looked up into the parting sky in awe.
( ~ Huff ~ )
The beauty blacked haired empress laid on her bed in sweat and tears as she gazed upon the imperial physician who held onto her two bundles of joy.
" Congratulations; Empress Jing, on the peaceful delivery of the prince and princess."
The Empress smiled weakly as she held onto her children while the physician exclaimed," The birth of twins is as auspicious as a blessing from both a dragon and a phoenix."
( ~ Waaa ~ )
Seeing the two children the physician said," The prince has a cinnabar mole between his brows. He doesn't cry or fuss; it's rare to see such a quiet and solemn child. Once his majesty looks upon this child he will adore him."
The physician smiled at the empress," Please rest now, I'll send a servant to make the announcement."
The Empress who was in a daze suddenly said, " Physician Yi, I only gave birth to the prince."
" Empress ?" Hearing the physician's confused tone, the Empress answered," Under the previous dynasty, a regent princess attempted to seize power, and in doing so brought chaos and disaster upon the imperial court. The princess had .... six fingers. Ever since then, the royal family has viewed such girls as bringers of calamity."
The Empress touched the small hands of the crying princess.
Her daughter had six fingers.
The Empress had melancholic look in her eyes as she said," Had you been born in a peasant family, it wouldn't have mattered at all. Unfortunately, you were born into the royal family."
The Empress turned towards the physician with tears in her eyes as the servants kowtowed to her.
They had understood the Empress's commands even if nothing was said.
Dispose of the princess.
