Chapter no.5 The Mysterious Staircase

[ POV Change ]
[ Saint Ancestral Mountain Range - The Devil's Forest ]
The beautiful golden light of the sun awoke many from the land of sleep but in a certain cave inside the Devil's Forest , a figure could be seen carefully observing the symbols drawn all over the cave of the forest .
A ancient scroll was held in his single hand as he was comparing the writing on the walls of the cave to the text written in the scroll .
Feeling all the fatigue , Isaac yawned .
( ~ Hmm ~ )
While stretching his back , Isaac could help but pinch his cheeks .
All of this still felt like a dream but all of this was real .
He was in a new world which apparently had superpowers or something to that degree .
Placing the ancient scroll down , Isaac sighed as he looked at all the stuff that had been ejected from the ring .
He had seen weird golf balls that gave off a tumeric and minty smell some kind of medicine .... maybe .
Weapons that all had those weird symbols on them like the dagger that attached to his hip on it's holster .
Unlike the other weapons , he could easily use that dagger without be knocked out .
Yep .... knocked out .
When he had tried to swing an axe he felt extremely lethargic as he felt the a cold sensation uncomfortable pierce into his skin as a weird kind of cold bluish white aura formed over the edge of the weapon and that was the last thing he remembered before the darkness enveloped his body .
When he woke up , he saw a small layer of ice .... actual fucking ice covering the small area where the weapon had landed .
To Isaac this was ... mind blowing .
[ Isaac's POV ]
After thinking about it . Maybe those weapons absorb the ATP from a cells of living organism somehow amplify the amount of Energy and then convert it into another type of energy . Well that was the only logical explanation I could give to myself ..... maybe I was right or maybe I was wrong .
Swiping through pictures of the symbols drawn on cave . I could help but sigh .... what should I do next .
There were still beasts out there in the forest that could easily kill me even if I had some new weapons on me .
At the thought of the beasts living in the forest my stump of an arm burned as the howls of those wolves resounded through my ears .
My body couldn't help but shake in fear .

It took me a few minutes but I ultimately calmed myself .

Hearing the sound of my stomach grumbling , I searched through my backpack and found my last granola bar .
Things were getting worse and worse .
He had lost his arm . His entire body was extremely lethargic . His head hurt and he was currently hungry and thirsty .
Looking at the mysterious skeleton , a thought filled my head ,' Can I make a soup out of boiling a skeleton ? '
Shaking my head to get rid of those immoral and unethical thoughts .
I took out my binoculars and began to search if there were any beasts near this territory .
....
The time was high noon as Isaac was blowing on the a few pieces of wood and dry leaves . Beside him was a small portable container filled with maggots .
While he couldn't hunt the beasts of this forest . He could still eat by roasting these maggots .

I never thought I would say this but roasted maggots are quite tasty ....when you have nothing else to eat .
Now with a full stomach , I began to compare the symbols of the cave to the ancient scrolls mostly because of one thing .
I wanted to know if these symbols were made by the mysterious skeleton when he was alive or not as that would confirm one thing .
If these symbols were made by the mysterious skeleton then they were most likely a message from the mysterious skeleton to someone and the mysterious skeleton believed they would come for him and some kind of human tribe was near him . I knew this was most likely not the case but I didn't want to lose hope since the skeleton was quite strong meaning it had recently died and the skeleton was not fully decomposed .
If only Isaac knew that the skeleton he had found was from the Sacred Empire Era , the peak of humanity .
If this symbols didn't match then they were written or drawn by someone else as a form of message or maybe it was a magic like rune with functions similar to the drawings on the ring .

The light of the shining moon illuminated the eriee devil's forest as Isaac could be seen holding his knees to his head .
What he had hoped for didn't happen as not a single symbol in all of the scrolls was similar to the drawings on the cave .

Taking a deep breath Isaac contemplated if he should open the figurative pandora's box or if it could even be opened .
' Fortune favours the bold '

This chant echoed through Isaac's head as he picked up the armour and placed it on the drawings of the cave wall .
For a few seconds nothing happened as Lin Lingtian's heart relaxed .
He knew it was a bad idea but he did want to think negatively after all the shit that had occured with him , he desperately wanted to think , positively . Maybe this cave was actually an entrance to a secret powerful treasure that the mysterious skeleton was after which could help be at least survive .
Since nothing happened then these cave drawings were just a type of message .... right .
Isaac wanted to pull away from the cave wall but he couldn't . His entire body was stuck .
A blue and black aura erupted from the drawings on the armour as the entire cave wall lit up in a purple and crimson glow .
The drawings began to move forward as the lines of the scribbles or drawings slithered to the center .
( ~ Ahhh ~ )
Isaac couldn't help it as he rubbed his stinging eyes together .
After a few minutes , Isaac couldn't help but look at the staircase infront of him .
The previous cave wall was gone replaced with a dark and eriee staircase which lead God know's where .
