Production Journal #2: Roadblock (and road rage)

I've hit a major production roadblock in the Life is Strange video. The script is done, i've said all I want and can think to say, but it's not good. Not by my stardards anyway. To me it's unfocused, unsophisticated, un-a lot of things. I really dislike it to the point where I think i'm going to shelve it. There's a possibility i'll get an "a-ha!" moment some day where I figure out how to make the video work, but for now i'm leaving it alone and not filming or posting it because I want to make videos i'm proud of and i'm just not proud of it.
This is, as you can imagine, immensely frustrating and upsetting to me. I've never had this happen but it's for the best I think to not go ahead with it despite how frustrating that is. I gotta apologize if I got any of your hopes up. I've learned a lot from it now and I know what I need to do to make sure this doesn't happen again. Anyway, I'm working on something to take its place, and i'm confident you (and I) will enjoy it. In the meantime, rather than the next video being Life is Strange, the next will be Fallout: DUST.
On top of that, i'm dropping a link to the Life is Strange script as-is so you can read it and maybe enjoy it a little while I put all of my energy into the DUST video.

Sorry about the Life is Strange video! I was looking forward to you talking about some non-mod content, but I'm sure there will be another time for it! Excited for Dust a lot, already left a book of a comment last time so I won't say much else than I hope all goes well and you're doing well!

2022-09-09 05:10:58 +0000 UTCHope you don't feel too defeated by the project! I've found that projects I've come to a complete roadblock on, and come back to sometimes years later make them better than I ever could imagine at the time. So it's never "wasted time" is what I'm getting at!
