I was laughing so hard when Ben kept imitating a computer guy asking Cindy Crawford to get in a box. It was so understated and nobody latched on, which made it even funnier.

Probable RIP to Gangsta the iguana

I like the book but the circumstances of the president parachuting out the Marine 1 seems too weird. Also, the Russians refusing to speak with anyone but the president even though they are aware the US has already been hit with nuclear weapons seems unlikely. They would want as much information as they could get, they may still launch against us but I think they would be trying get as much information as possible. Otherwise, I think the book is great and terrifying.

Grogan99

Good God I just finished reading "Nuclear War". It's going to be an absolutely brutal movie if it follows the scenario presented. If they showed it in real time it'd be a tight 90 minutes from launch to the end of civilization.

Rich Wiles

Gabrus, A friend of mine actually works for Outerknown i bet they could get you removed from all the emails/mailers if you want.

Long Jawnson

Didn't Stallone also pull that move with the Expendables movie?

Corluka

Didn’t even realize that was Jason Voorhees himself thanks for that haha

PatrickKilbrogan

Adam Sandler has an entire song just based on women’s names in song titles: https://youtu.be/uYxU3QQPWCo?si=UfoWKm9yuM1tuYek

Donatello’s Big Dong

When I worked at Starbucks, we used them for their intended purpose but we also used them to kill brain cells and get high for ten seconds.

Donatello’s Big Dong

I watched about 15 minutes of this and thought "Life's too short...", so I stopped. But the Boyz convinced me to watch the rest of it, and I'm glad I did.

David Bauer

Cold pizza note for Gabrus: as a fellow LI native, “cold slice” is a popular choice when in Huntington (north shore) at a pizzeria called Little Vincent’s. It’s down the street where the Paramount venue is located.

Andrew B

What baffled me about both conversations re this book (subscribe to Shadow Wolves) is how this fear of nuclear weapons wasn’t glaringly obvious when these guys watched Oppenheimer. Anyway, Jacobsen has a good recent podcast with Dan Carlin where she gives a summary of her book. She also does have a great voice for all of you perverts.

Pittsburgh has become associated with the cold cheese on pizza thing but there's like 1 pizza place here that actually does that. It originated in Youngstown, Ohio

You can always use to…ask what I mean

Gabrus, Rodgers, and Stanger

Yes thank you Data Janitor.

Gabrus, Rodgers, and Stanger

Dillon, you stepson of a bitch!

Antti

Also, hydrogen bombs can be referred to thermonuclear bombs. Thermonuclear bombs have never been dropped on targets in war, but nuclear weapons have been in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I assume the intended distinction was atomic vs. thermonuclear.

Data Janitor

The Discord is mine! [sent via radio from undisclosed location]

Joe B

Atomic bombs are nuclear bombs. They release energy from nuclear fission. Hydrogen bombs are also nuclear bombs that release energy from nuclear fusion (kicked off by nuclear fission).

Data Janitor

i agree that you are not sure what ben means

connie voltaire

An atomic bomb killed people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. A nuclear bomb is different and “makes [the A bomb] look like a high school science project.” I knew about the nuclear football but not the protocol behind it or what’s inside of it…I can’t believe mister masters is just now learning what a nuclear weapon is.

Gabrus, Rodgers, and Stanger

I also can’t believe that Ben just now knows about the nuclear football

Mister Masters

Not sure what Ben means when he says a nuclear weapon has never been dropped on anyone ever.

Mister Masters

I just turned 34 and Cindy Crawford was one of my childhood crushes

Nolan-Globus

Hell yea Gabrus shouting out weezer and then mentioning Velouria. I see you bud!

David McElroy

I'm gonna add here that David Lee Roth definitely did talk shit on The Clash and how serious they took themselves, even randomly accusing them of drinking milk from their beer bottles. Why he chose to zero-in on an English punk band that were on the verge of splitting up when Van Halen, a band as American as apple pie, were peaking is beyond me, but the dude was always a bit of a cunt.

Scott Blacula

At this rate, will we ever get a Rodge plush?

Dedwerkz

Yea why don’t they kiss the Boyz?

PatrickKilbrogan

I would love to hear a Stanger guilty pleasure mix tape. He should put together a playlist and call it “Now That’s What I Call Stanger!!!”

Dan

For real! I look at the discord and really just think about what could have been. The worst "fans" ruin a scene so fast. Honestly, kind of hurt to hear how the Boyz just didn't feel wanted which they are completely justified feeling given how noisy that server is.

Dedwerkz

Agreed DropKing is a good dude, I was a member for a while and always hoped we could get more questions for hosts/live watch along stuff like Rodgers did for that recording he had of “Childs Play”, would have even been happy talking about movies/TV that actionboyz and girlz would have been interested in with other fans. Unfortunately a lot of people in there feel like they have their own agenda and think they have their finger on the pulse of Actionboyz culture or that they are really funny and can get some kind of recognition amongst the fans in the discord. Sometimes I hear them roasting us using the nerdy fan voice on the podcast and think” Yup we as a whole deserve this” haha. Anyway, great episode Boyz thanks as always.

PatrickKilbrogan

Use the PaperKarma app to get off catalog mailing lists. It costs money but you can subscribe for just a couple months and kill everything off.

joeygorp85

Watched this last night on Tubi, first viewing since I was 13 in 95. Cindy Crawford kills Kane Hodder while her tiddies are out. Masterpiece.

Wildly Mid

I enjoyed listening to Jon's slow descent into madness over the course of three hours.

amazing thanks for the share

pube

Goddamn I can’t stop laughing at Stanger asking if the ninja turtles smell like shit. Haha

Daryl sakimae

I love the podcast and even got a voice message played on a Shadow Wolf episode... But the Discord is a nightmare. I was so excited to hear from The Boyz and maybe ask a few questions. No way that can happen on there. I feel bad for the mod in there but if they ever try to set up a server again they need to set up some bots and restrict user roles.

Dedwerkz

it has been a while since hearing from sir paul

amy the gorilla

lmao gabrus ‘our iguanna in college who we named gangsta’ should have been expanded on

amy the gorilla

‘what smells good to a turtle’ is a great question

amy the gorilla

That music video for Soul Asylum’s “Runaway Train” traumatized me, especially that scene with the runaway girl (who left home because she was being molested by her father) forced to become a prostitute being abducted by bikers and thrown into a van. I was like, “WTF is this? What even is this music video??” I’m pretty sure many Q-Anoners were born after watching that Soul Asylum video. Goddamn!

Paul

did not know Cindy Crawford was a chemical engineering student. Same as Dolph. should've had them repopulate this shithole a long time ago. nobody would be able to act, but that's a relatively small price. great episode, later.

Thicc Nolte

A friend of mine told me they went on the Seinfeld tour in NYC that was hosted by the real Kramer that Michael Richards character is based on and apparently he used a racial slur while hosting the tour. So they were both racist which makes the Michael Richards tirade even more evidence of accurate casting. Also, Michael Richards attempting to apologize on Letterman while Jerry Seinfeld is a guest would make an amazing shadow wolves cold open. The audience can’t help but laugh at Kramer while he’s trying to apologize and Jerry trying so hard to help him out is so funny. The softness on his voice when he says, ‘Stop laughing.’ 😂 https://youtu.be/IwBoVZh1ruQ?si=X7SD3lkw-Ji3EvhB https://youtu.be/IwBoVZh1ruQ?si=X7SD3lkw-Ji3EvhB

Big Stepper

I haven’t laughed so much since the Gwildor Friedkin tangent. Fucking so funny! When Stanger added the bit about using the computer in your head…chef’s kiss Boyz

Oldmancoyoteface

See we always called whip its just huffing the gas without shaking the whip cream. It is all the same gas though. Definitely didn’t damage my brain 🥹

Oldmancoyoteface

Agreed. I was fucking dying.

Scott Tammel

I’m 31 and Cindy Crawford was definitely still popular amongst my straight male classmates when I was a kid. I was also definitely familiar with her Pepsi commercial, although that may have been because it re-entered the zeitgeist when Britney’s Pepsi commercial came out

Jenn

fuck i guess i'm officially "bee school guy". a gentle reminder that ironic mansplaining doesn't translate in comments. the only other time i commented was about bird watching so i guess i have a particular pedantic niche.

Since this is the second episode in a row with classic SUV talk I'll throw out a rec for the show Dark Winds. It's a solid show that star's the cop from Reservation Dogs. Lot if great 70s cars including the best body style El Camino and a gorgeous GMC Jimmy.

Gilligan(The marooned Ranchero)

The porn version of Predator contains the line "C'mon Drill Me! Drill Me Now!"... (So sorry)

I’m a naive dope who shoots a pellet gun in his basement and during the BLM marches I asked another wob why air guns were so popular out there (Detroit/Dearborn) and he had to correct me that they were from whip its

Charlie Horgan

Jesus Real World Detroit was funny. Like to see that animated

ChickenPaddy

This is one of the funniest movies the podcast has ever covered. I laughed harder at this than Back to School.

Bluvbot

Great read thanks for sharing.

David McElroy

I was on an East coast tour with a group of Indian Classical musicians when this movie was released. Our lead musician saw this garbage three times in a row one day. In a theater. He loved it.

Dan

Had no idea Cindy slept with Predators. I’m less attracted to her now.

I’ve been thinking about Abraham Whistler a lot recently

PatrickKilbrogan

TLDR - survivors will envy the dead.

Hammerthrust Von Sexron

This movie taught me two things. One, we all use to think Billy Baldwin could not only snag Cindy Crawford but also Salma Hayek? Bull-shit! Two, there's a surprising number of zodiacs on market place

Gilligan(The marooned Ranchero)

To Gabrus's question: "Whip-its" refers to nitrous oxide that comes from those little metal chargers that look like CO2 cartridges for a BB gun. They're supposed to be used to charge cans of homemade whipped cream. I've never personally seen anyone use them for their intended purpose.

P L

I’ve started reading “Nuclear War: a Scenario” by Annie Jacobsen. What a thrilling and engaging nonfiction book! Wow. Thanks for the rec.

Paul

Couldn't agree with you more. I had an absolute blast with this one.

LA Time just did a long piece on the latest Randall Emmett, the guy from all those Bruce Willis exploitation films, and for some reason he now calls himself Ives and has a 63 year old ex-con pretend to be the director: https://t.co/WNhHFYb70b

Eugenio Triana

This film is egregiously stupid, features awful acting and I loved it. I skipped this one back in the day so I had blast catching up with this late Silver gem. The intensity of the action scenes was amazing, with endless exploding cars and quality squib work. It was obvious why Crawford's acting career went nowhere but Baldwin was almost just as bad. He was all stilted line readings and Zoolanderesque posing. The scene where he tried to pull off a John Woo style double pistol pose was hilarious. He looked a like proper gobshite as he dropped out the frame while shooting. But the action is good and the 90 minute runtime flies by. So thanks to the Boyz for pointing me towards another overlooked gem.
