Yes, Madam! (1985)

The boyz discuss Yes, Madam!

Yes, Madam! (1985)

Coming in a year late, but that opening is from a different Sammo movie called Where's Officer Tuba?, no clue why they tacked it on to the beginning of this.

Sheriff_JonBunell_Ramsey

lmao i luv this episode!

tmcms

Gabrus, if you wrote a memoir, it’d be a NYT best seller… just sayin

A cop

Hell yeah

Will See

I watched on Tubi, english dub. As others have said, the voices were incredible, IMO half the fun was the silly voices. However it's worth noting that the entire "old man" plot was cut. Which lead to some really odd moments. But yea the 3 thieves never had allegience to an old man or anything. Also maybe the "bookmarker" was cut, but also I had just put it on and hadn't really focused yet and that's the very beginning.

David McElroy

Is this still action boyz? Or is Ben running action girlz

Matt Baker

Did anyone watch this on Midnight Pulp, or somewhere else with an English dub? The voices are incredible.

Marked for Debt

tubi tip to skip commercials: pause it 3 seconds before adds start. skip ahead 30 seconds, pause, skip back 30 seconds...no commercials.

Bryce Pilaf

Gabrus check out Copshop if you ain't seen it already, your boy Gerard Butler

bloodflart

I wouldn't delete a comment unless I felt like it didn't add any value a few minutes after I posted. So very rarely.

David Bauer

Sammo and Cynthia being in this made me realize that Millionaire Express isn't streaming. That bums me out

Jack McReynolds

I came here to say this: In the Line of Duty 2: The Supercops is free on Prime and dubbed. I think some of the scenes are different than the boys have described (the opening features some awesome stunts and chase through the streets of HK culminating in a showdown at a marathon race).

Brian Stimson

This was a fun one, but how have y'all not done Hard Boiled yet?

Prince Henry Coraggio

Special guest score by John Carpenter

Stephen Navarrete

Great pick, would watch again. Speaking of buddy cop movies, I think Gwildore and Cybo-Man would be a great pairing for a buddy action movie.

Dan Skisak

Tubi baby!

Dan Skisak

ROBO WANT OREO

bloodflart

The 3rd shortest episode since this time last year

David

Guy who played Aspirin dated Cynthia Rothrock while she was making her Hong Kong movies. Guess martial arts guys and funny guys have something in common as far as dating above their station.

Jason E Becker

Excited for this one. Was hoping one of these would get covered when criterion had the Michelle Yeoh collection going a few months back

Zack

Don’t delete these comments I’m looking forward to them roasting you all and the uk guy

Clifford

My wife pointed out that the guys sounded like they were all dubbed by one guy. I didn’t even notice.

Jacob Coy

If you wanted to watch the dub, it’s a shame you guys didn’t watch In The Line Of Duty 2 on Amazon Prime. It’s the same movie as Yes, Madam but with the English dub and it comes free with Prime.

Jacob Coy

If that's true, I'm gonna be so embarrassed.

David Bauer

Favorite line is when the forger is being attacked for bad fake ids and he says "I was never good at climbin Boop!"

Quimberton Mullrooney

Boyz gonna do a little Tai Chi for the squad this month?

John McClane

I watched the version titled “in the line of duty 2: super cops” on prime and it was wild. The two main thieves were named Marlon and The Professor, and the forger was named Weasel. I kinda wish I watched the sub. The “comedy” took me out of it at a certain point.

Sean

The ladder fight scene in Once Upon a Time in China is amazing.

Antti

I got the feeling they were probably joking.

Antti

Double Team is a classic

Bring me the Head of Warren Oates

He starts off talking about how badass he is and then immediately fucks up?

bloodflart

Panadol is played by legendary HK director / producer Tsui Hark, who directed the 90s JCVD joints Knock Off & Double Team (and also a bunch of genuine classics). 2 out of 9 janitors found this interesting

Dark Angel Of The Year

Waiting for the revelation that Kodo and Podo aren't blood related. And they're only thieves so they can buy Dar an apartment

Former Janitor

Holy shit i came here to say the same thing!

Brendan Crowley

I don't think it does, they're pretty much always talking about the case/the perpetrators. Ninja Terminator does, but this one didn't quite make it.

Triumph44

Panadol is a brand name for paracetamol, basically Tylenol. Strepsils are medicated throat lozenges

Former Janitor

Nice I'll have to check it out. With winter coming I'm sure I'll have time

Gilligan(The marooned Ranchero)

“Who am I?” Has some of the best driving I’ve ever seen. And I’m a driving buff.

Hammerthrust Von Sexron

I'd be interested in hearing some thoughts on The Killer, on the next Shadow Wolves. Replace contract killing with directing, and it feels like Fincher's most personal movie yet.

Michael Pemulis

Are my ActionBoyz seriously not familiar with the term "on the rag"? Madonn'!

David Bauer

Imagine a scorpion trying to sting a turtle on the shell

MB

They died doing what they loved, for minimum wage.

Adam Lewis

Did this movie pass the Bechdel Test?

Boogie

A lot of forgers died to make action and spy movie antagonists look badass between 1970 and 2000.

Adam Lewis

Some great action in it, but makes no sense as a part of this movie.

Max Winters

Yeah, I had the failed arrest of the guy that dressed as a woman to escape as well.

Boogie

Rodgers: If you're bad at sports or you're not smart.. or have no talent or aptitude for anything- *The entire listener base nervously loosens their shirt collars.*

JarredPalmer

Did anyone else have a different opening than the one they discussed? The dubbed version.

Max Winters

same in America 🤝

bloodflart

Killers of the Flower Moon is now Avengers 4. Too funny.

Brian Furey

the hotel conversation is all too real an example of how covid protocols morphed in to new permanent ways big companies and shit squeeze the margins. the awful check in/check out times got worse to allow for the limited staff to do additional sanitation stuff in the rooms but now they are forever. and a lot of the housekeepers and shit who worked their asses off in the pandemic are still working their asses off but now because hotels won't hire up to pre-pandemic levels to keep labor cost down. and just as often because a lot of the people the laid off left the industry and there's not enough new blood to replace them so the workplace just fuckin' sucks

MB

I’m not sure but it sounded like Yeoh and Rothrock were dubbed by the same woman. Then again it’s also possible that one man did all the male characters too.

Joe B

The “Forger” as action / thriller stock character has now been supplanted by the “Hacker”same role in building out the plot

Canadian Day Player

The dub was hilarious

Seth Buchanan

Thanks, I thought I had watched all the early Yeoh stuff this year, but I guess I skipped Royal Warriors.

Dark Angel Of The Year

Back to a reasonable 2 hour 20 minute podcast after an incredible run of beefy boys

CTSteeze

If you have the means I highly recommend the In the Line of Duty I-IV box set that came out earlier this year that has Yes Madam! and (hopefully future episode) Royal Warriors

Berko Pierce

Really cool movie! I wish you guys had watched the dubbed version for takes on some of the voice acting. Great episode.

Quimberton Mullrooney

Can’t wait for this new merch

Brix

On the rag means to be on your period in the UK

Bobby Nitro

Yes, Zaddy!

bloodflart

The more I watch this genre the more I fall in love with the little utility vehicles they had overseas in the 80s, and the more I feel sorry for the stunt people overseas in the 80s.

Gilligan(The marooned Ranchero)

Count Bakula the Quarterback is 10/10

Cole Trickle

Yeah

Smokey Queso

nice.

tire

Sure why not
