We are beginning to see the light at the of the tunnel with the second half of Chapter 2 (V0.2) of A Shot in the Dark. This was a very ambitious third update, but we are very, very happy with how it is turning out!
All of the scene writing for V0.2 is now finalized, and all that is left to write is Photogram content. Renders for all but two scenes are finished, but they are the two most complex scenes in the update. All animations have been started in some capacity, so now it just a race to finish posing and rendering them all. (This week's NSFW preview from V0.2 is from one of the animations currently rendering!)
Then, of course, we still have the long process of coding, polishing, and playtesting which has only just begun. The extensive branching in A Shot in the Dark has made this final stage more intensive than we were accustomed to with Prince of Suburbia. We are currently onboarding people to help with that last step, so it should hopefully go faster as time goes on. This update will be the training ground for that!
Our goal remains to get the second half of Chapter 2 of A Shot in the Dark out in November, but as always we will keep you update as our timeline becomes more firm!
Art production is well underway for V0.9 of Prince of Suburbia, and script writing began in earnest this past week.
As a special Halloween treat, auxiliaryout made the two attached illustrations of Catherine and Sarah for our Patrons/Subscribers to enjoy! Full resolution versions are attached to this post and available for download on MEGA.
A lot of time is still being dedicated to updating, translating, polishing, and testing the new FREE DEMO (V0.55) of Prince of Suburbia that will be available as a free update to players on Itch.io and Steam.
All of the remastered art in the new FREE DEMO (V0.55) was already made available to anyone who paid for V0.8 on Patreon, SubscribeStar, or Itch.io. So, the only thing that will be different about the new FREE DEMO (V0.55) for fans who already paid for V0.8 will be the translation updates and minor bug/error fixes.
Our goal is to get the new FREE DEMO (V0.55) onto Itch.io and Steam in November, and the Part 2 DLC (which gives Steam players access to V0.8) released in December. The extra time needed to handle all of this will likely push the V0.9 release for Patrons/Subscribers into January (with Steam and Itch.io releases after that), but as always we will keep you updated as we get closer to release!
If you haven't noticed, getting our games onto Steam is a complicated process that unfortunately takes some time away from actual development. However, having a presence on Steam is critical to our studio's growth. We appreciate your understanding and patience!
Happy Halloween everyone!
