Years ago, I bought a random volume of the Lone Wolf and Cub manga because the first chapters were all ornate samurai politics. Turns out, it also contained a urine-drinking scene that's still burned into my memory. My mom found the book and she was so disgusted. Some of the worst shame I've ever felt.

@Joe yeah it's all just a matter of personal preference. I dont care about cars or fambly but I do like superheroes. I like Marvel mostly and cant stand F&F although they are essentially the same thing

I mean, I can’t think of much that Marvel movies actually do well. I guess they feature an ensemble cast pretty well. Acting is rough. CGI has been discussed many times for being poor due to overworked and underpaid vfx artists. Writing and stories are about as generic and uninspiring as it gets.

It's not that they don't like them. I don't care if they like them. It's just that the things they complain about with them are very prevalent in other things they love. Like the Fast and Furious movies or some of the shows they like. It's just the same complaint every time. Not trying to get into a discussion. Just wanted to say it.

3rd the real gem of the franchise. It’s bookend by a story that wasn’t in the comic, and another story that might be the most famous ones in the series that is used here perfectly with an excellent callback in the third act.

Surprised and happy at the Liquid Swords shoutout! I watched the second LW&C and it was pretty incredible. The first one is great, but feels a little bit like a heightened version of Zatoichi imo (one of Shintarō Katsu’s other roles). This felt more like its own beast. And I’m probably presuming too much, but the Gods of Death seem like a potential source of inspiration for the Storms in Big Trouble in Little China. I guess I’m going to have to watch the rest of the series now haha
