2022-01-01 02:52:07 +0000 UTCI feel like “Boondock Saints” benefitted in a weird way from being such a shit show, because as mentioned on the episode, everyone was still trying to be the next Tarantino, but without the quality that he brings to his projects. I don’t think Boondock Saints is any different, but by taking forever to get made, having its budget slashed, not having any A-list stars in it, and then taking even longer before anyone SAW it, it kind of escaped being bunched in with that wave of other movies, many of them other Miramax films, that were considered failed attempts at being the next Pulp Fiction. I don’t like Boondock Saints myself, but I think it’s a good gateway movie to other better movies that those of us a little older than the early ‘00s college dorm room crowd would have been more familiar with that Duffy was clearly trying to rip off.
