I listened to the Jon Daly episode he won't shut up about after Rodgers and Gabrus mentioned him. I expected way more of a clusterfuck. Jon chews him out a bit for the way he tries to recruit guests in the first 10 minutes, then he tries to riff and the kids completely no-sell it ("uh, are you for real? I don't think there's an actual island where all the Jon Dalys hang out"), and then proceeds to interview a bunch of awkward high school kids about their interests for the rest of the episode.

When I first saw this on TV as a very young child, I was certain that Flash Gordon and DC’s The Flash were the same character. I kept waiting for him to get his speed powers. When he was gassed, I thought this must be it, I guess this is gonna give him the powers. There was very little movie left by the time I realized he wasn’t going to become super fast.

Brian Blessed rules. I always think of him as Matt Berry's dad because of that one Toast Of London episode and they have a really similar energy. He's also amazing in his chunk of episodes of I, Claudius, which has just every great Brit actor from the 70s hamming it up, including a hairy Patrick Stewart and John Hurt as Caligula.

The only race thing I know about Queen is that they played Sun City during the Apartheid boycott and they got flak for that. Their story was they stipulated it not be a segregated crowd and the promoters agreed, but that was due to the promoters knowing black people couldn’t afford a ticket! Freddie was very apolitical, I’d be surprised if he was a racist, though he was Persian and born in what’s now Tanzania and his family had to flee to Britain, so I could be wrong, maybe he resented that.
