I'm taking a small (20h) course on Scientific Illustration : basic techniques. This is the first project to do during the classes (we have three in total: charcoal, india ink and water coloring painting) and this is my 3 hours illustration of a cactus. It's still unfinished as it's meant to do all through the 20 hours, but I've decided to post here regardless.

I know it's not what this Patreon is about and I know it's not even an animal, but I think Scientific Illustration kinda deserves more respect and attention. It's hard work, even after 6 hours, here I am only half way done, and this is my first time and it came out kinda nice. So it's not a very difficult art, and it IS fun and relaxing and I think it's good to show people the things that can be done.

Also, I'm learning new techniques through the course, and hopefully later on i'll be able to actually do more animal-focused art applying those techniques. I'm really interested in seeing what I can do by applying this to furry art as well. Eventually, when I'm at least done with my cactus.
