Meaning 'steadfast in devotion' (especially to a monarch).
So the latest addition to the human/non-human co-protagonists genre * this year was Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts, which (at the time of posting this) completed its 24-episode run in English, adapting the entire manga.
These two characters, Fenrir (the white wolf), and Nir (shortened from Gleipnir, the enchanted dwarf-forged chains that kept the giant wolf, Fenrir in Norse Mythology, captive) are introduced in the middle of the story. I won’t spoil the plot of course (including why Fenrir only has one ear and Nir has an eye missing), but… their relationship certainly got me in the feels, alright. And I now am actively collecting the manga, hurrah.
So, enjoy. This turned out a bit more demure than I initially planned but this won’t be the last Niehime-related image I’ll produce on here…
* check out To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts; the Tale of the Outcasts; this one (the titular character I've depicted a few times now); this other one.... oh and Somali and the Forest Spirit before I forget!
