This would be Brutus from Brute Force, a 2003 sci-fi video game developed by the former Texas-based studio, Digital Anvil. It was their third and final production, but the first to be released on the original Xbox as the company was absorbed by Microsoft.

So the year is 2350, humanity has successfully spread out over the known galaxy and a predominantly human-led governmental organisation safeguards it via a specialised team who deal with hostile external (mostly alien) threats: the titular Brute Force. Brutus is the second one to be recruited after a major disagreement within his own peoples led to him being exiled. Blah blah, zappy shooty stuff that kinda tried to emulate aspects of Halo (released two years prior), except in 3rd-person… It’s a video game from a very different time (the main character reacts in surprise at one of the team members being female 🙄)

Anyway, I thought Brutus was kinda hot—darn gravelly voice 🥰 (thanks to the talents of this fellow)

Thank you YouTube algorithm – it was this video that alerted me to Brutus in the first place; he’s pretty good at video game development history stuff for his “Wha’Happun?” series. Much recommend.
