This part was half completed way back in the spring but I had to do all the preceding pages first. And then I had to revise this page as I finally got more comfortable with drawing the characters so they weren’t as ‘stiff’.

無勝負 Mushōbu: This custom is from Edo (Ancient) Japan and isn’t generally practiced anymore. Usually a 取り直し /とりなおし torinaoshi, or a rematch, is set up if the gyōji (referee in the ring with the wrestlers) and shimpan (judges who sit around the edges of the ring) are unable to reach a conclusion concerning a match’s outcome. This discussion itself is called a 物言い mono-ii.
