Patrons have voted and I shall oblige as dictated: presenting Set and Thoth.
Lord of the desert, storms, disorder and warfare, Set is Horus’s brother and sworn adversary (except when the two form a truce to defeat Apep, the giant serpent that embodied chaos, and unlike Set, whose antagonism stemmed from jealousy of his brother, Apep could never be reasoned with). Exactly what animal Set is supposed to be remains a mystery, which the ancient texts only refer to Set as a sha. So various interpretations of this mystery animal have manifested.
Thoth on the other hand is more scholarly, the deity of the moon, writing, magic and wisdom. He is represented by the ibis. And that’s about it.
This was an interesting one to put together as in the 2000s I was an Egyptologist otaku (blame the success of The Mummy movies). But rather than default to the obvious ones like Anubis, or Ra, I went sideways a bit. I hope you like it.
Thank you again to everyone who allows me the opportunities to depict these.
