Now I'm Back (Again...)

Honesty time.

Things have been extremely indeterminable the last few days, so I apologise for my sporadic messages.  Today (Wednesday 27th) is the first day I've actually been able to get back online via my desktop and not stuck on my phone.

I'm sorry for no cute illustrations this time but I think it's more important to address several issues that have built up over the forced downtime.  I'll be as succinct as possible:.

1. I won't be going away for a boating holiday mid-August

The parents rather sprung this on me last weekend when I was staying with them to attend my brother's birthday.  It was a very generous offer but two weeks is too short notice, as I had been planning to make up for the lack of income this month of July.  So I had to decline.   It turned out to be a rather expensive month after all, and given all the worrying noises lately...

Alas, ala Murphy's Law, no internet on my desktop when I came back on Sunday 24th to actually explain any of this properly.   I had put out a poll on Friday 22nd asking whether I should pause Patreon again and it was rather empowering to see the results be as follows:

I deleted the poll earlier this morning but thank you, kind producers who participated, really appreciate the feedback.  I won't be rescinding upon what I said earlier in the month; anyone who was a Patron before or on 6th July, and didn't alter their pledge or re-join at any point in July won't get charged next week.  That's a promise.

2. The Patrons' Choice Poll will be late

I am really sorry about this one but as aforementioned, had no internet at home on my desktop (where my files are kept) so I didn't have a means of uploading and updating Patreon on Monday 25th like I was supposed to.  And Murphy's Law again, I keep getting error messages trying to upload the poll today.  🙄 So I'm not going to push my luck (did checking my Patreon away from home set off something?) and will try again tomorrow (28th).  I'll keep you all updated... so look out for what's what.  Along that vein...

3. What I'm Actually Doing For August

The VIPinnups and Patrons' Choice content (when I get the darn poll to work on here for the latter) will definitely be happening, so look out for those, as well as the updates to the ongoing comics.

Once the payment cycle for July completes (in relation to those who [re]joined or altered their pledge after 6th July), I am charging again for existing Patrons (I charge up-front; sorry new Patrons, I am unable to change it). 

In other words, August's content will not be free like July's.  I'll post a reminder next month so no one is caught unawares.  

I'm rather disappointed at myself for Poking Around, as despite my best efforts, I don't think I'll be able to get it done before the turn of the month.  It has been a really messy July, not gonna lie...  though if anyone wants to drop out because they were specifically after that comic and it hasn't materialised (yet), I won't blame them for it.

Sorry to have kept you all waiting; today was first day I could actually publish something thought-out without wrestling my phone keyboard (why did I not take my laptop last weekend...?).
