- 対人恐怖症: reads as taijinkyōfushō, or anthropophobia – fear of all humans.
- The Beast Who Shouted I At the Heart of His World: in reference to the story featured in 1969 short-story collection The Beast that Shouted Love at the Heart of the World by Harlan Ellison. Ellison is best known for “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream”, and his other influential contributions to what we would nowadays call science-fiction. Coincidentally, it is also the title of the final episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion and can be read as both 愛 ai (love) and I.
