PATREON PACK 026 IMAGE VOTING
Added 2019-06-27 21:59:06 +0000 UTCThis is a poll to determine the specific images of Patreon Pack 025! Vote below for your choice. Votes are not limited to one per person, but please keep it to only two or three! Voting will end June 30.
The theme is "Fanart from my Childhood" and will feature a single illustration from each of the winners I am able to do. I'm also stretching the definition of "childhood" a teensy bit, but each of the choices below were formative in my steps towards taking up art. The contents of each image are something I haven't thought TOO closely about yet, but it'll all be fun stuff, hopefully!
"Sonic the Hedgehog" - specifically, Sonic 2. This was one of the first games we had in the home as a kid that I really sank my teeth into, and the vibrant lights and simple designs have always stuck with me.
"The Lion King" - everyone had one of those movies they watched over and over and over (and over) as a kid, and this was mine! I knew this movie like the back of my hand (probably still do, despite having not seen it in years), and the movie definitely helped inspire the kind of art I'd eventually draw.
"Ocarina of Time" - while not having an overt impact on my art style itself, OoT was the first video game I played where I felt like *I* was a big part of the story. I'd named the character after myself (being a dumb kid and not knowing any better), and having characters talk to ME was huge! I think that had a big impact on my desire to tell stories in my art. It's something I don't get to do much of, but something I love! (I've never beaten the game though, RIP)
"Trigun" - my parents were pretty strict about what we could watch when we grew up. My first big exposure to a lot of things were at sleepovers with friends. The next three were all shown to me at once at a sleepover, along with a few other Really Good Shows. Trigun really grew my love of the Wild West aesthetic, even if it plays with that REALLY loosely.
".hack//sign" - I'm pretty sure this is the second anime I ever saw (first being "Superbook"), and the sense of wonder and mystery it had completely enthralled me. Back when I first started drawing stuff, .hack//'s style was one of the main things I was emulating.
"Cowboy Bebop" - I probably don't have to tell you how this affected me, but DANG! It's Good.
