Whew, another one finished! Thanks to all who commented and supported this project. It's not quite on the scale of Julie Takes Wing or Savage A2Z, but I'm still proud of it! This has truly been a labor of love and Dana and Cro have become two of my favorite OC's. I hope to visit them again soon.
The 1982 Incredible Hulk cartoon had a major impact on me, including helping me get over my childhood fear of transformations. Yes, believe it or not, Bill Bixby's eyes going white would send me running out of the room once upon a time. You know what else gave me nightmares as a preschooler? Peter and the Wolf. I didn't even know what a wolf was (essentially a big dog), I just imagined some horrible ravenous monster coming of the forest. My biggest childhood fears were Hulks, wolves, and transformations, which I know spend large chunks of my free time drawing and even helps me pay the mortgage. Anyway, I digress... it was a thrill to finally pay homage to this classic cartoon, and others in the adventure genre of 1980's Saturday Morning and syndicated cartoons.
A couple of special treats for you $10 level patrons. First of all, given the storyboard nature of this sequence I thought a panel by panel recap of the whole comic would be fun to scroll through. Second, text free versions of the cover and inside cover art. Finally, well-- as they say on the internets, "watch until the end!" There may be a little surprise for you waiting there.
Thanks again for your support! Let me know what you think of this! What's your favorite part? Do you want to see more of Dana & Cro? Are you an 80's kid like me? Let me know in the comments!
On to JennyBomb!
