The Burning Cat - Exclusive Encounter - April 2023

The Burning Cat is a social encounter featuring Gumiennik, one of the demons from the Slavic mythos (illustrated, in it's cat form, by our own Ayatee).
Gumiennik (also called ovinnik) guarded the grain in the farmyard against fire, thieves and pests, but was easily offended. Disrespecting him or threshing grain during a strong wind or on a holiday would make the demon angry. It was then difficult to propitiate him - and angry gumiennik would contaminate the grain or start a fire... and this is exactly the situation the heroes meet the demon in!
This encounter is inspired by centuries-old Slavic tradition. It represents part of the Polish history and beliefs of our ancestors that are still part of our culture.
