Rule 34 & Other Stuff in December

Hey everyone. I put out 3 whole videos last month! That was a lot of work, and I am beat. But I'm so happy with the reception, especially on the tsundere video. I am gonna pull back with the uploads, so don't expect that level of consistency, but I'm working on a couple things for December.

Rule 34

So the first video I'm putting out is about Rule 34. There's been a pretty popular discussion online about how games like Bioshock Infinite and Overwatch "revolutionized 3D animation" due to the rule 34 made from them. See viral tweet here:

And that sparked an idea in my head to research the history of rule 34 and how it affected video games and movies and vice versa. I'm not sure there's much I'll be able to prove with this specific tweet, because it firmly falls into "my source is that I made it the fuck up" territory. But it seems intuitively true, so I wanna talk about it.

Also, nobody's really made a history of rule 34 video before. Probably for good reason.

Other Stuff

Due to the holidays, and me taking a bit of a break after last month's barn burner, the rule 34 vid is the only major project I have planned on the main channel, and I'm gonna take my time with it. However, there will be another "Everything I Saw" on the second channel, talking about all the shows and movies I didn't talk about in a normal video. I'm also thinking of doing a "Best Videos of the Year" as a separate video this time, so I can highlight some great YouTubers I saw in 2023. All of that will be on Alex Torias though, so make sure you're subscribed.

Just a quick update on all the weirdness going on between Patreon and the website: Basically, I'm going to keep my Vimeo subscription for videos, since I tried a bunch of other web hosts and none of them were as good and cheap. Having talked to Fourthwall, they actually don't allow explicit content in their TOS, which means I don't have any reason to host on them anymore.

So I've actually shut down memberships on the website, and am contacting the support there to cancel that. I'll be keeping everything to Patreon for now. It really sucks there's no great membership option that has good video hosting AND decent adult content guidelines, but oh well.
