Update: Video Game Difficulty & 100K

Hey everyone. Glad people enjoyed the new anime randomizer. I don’t have much behind-the-scenes for it, but I’m once again thankful to have a Patreon because the YouTube version with Jackie Chan’s City Hunter kept getting copyright claimed, which is why I made that bit Patreon exclusive.

Moving forward onto other projects, I am currently working on a video about video game difficulty! Just like with video game length and graphics, it's a topic that has a million videos on it and a billion different opinions and examples. But I want to throw my hat into the ring, and more specifically talk about what I think would be the ideal video game difficulty system. It's gonna be similar to the shorter games video, and hopefully pretty concise and video essayish.

Other than that, I'm slowly approaching 100k subscribers, and I want to make a video to celebrate that. Or more specifically, I have an idea to celebrate other creators. Since my channel has grown I've wanted to be able to use my influence to shout out other people I think make good videos. So I'm working on a 100k subscriber special where I talk about and recommend 100 YouTubers under 100k.

I don't know if there's too many videos on YouTube where people just shout out channels in a formal way like this, but I'm currently collecting my list of 100 channels, and then I'm gonna start working on the video in the background leading up to me hitting 100k myself. According to YouTube it should be a few months before I hit that, so plenty of time to make a gigantic vid like this.

Let me know your thoughts on anything I'm working on, and I'll talk to you next time.

I’d suggest looking into the YouTuber “Captian Mack” he makes some really good video essay type videos on anime and manga and had a pretty vibrant personality as well and only has 35K subscribers. Jus thought I’d throw his name out there!

Me and my friend were just having a convo about video game difficulty and how we wish every game would have a difficulty scale like Ghost of Tsushima. The hardcore difficulty in that game makes most enemies only 2 hits to kill, but it also makes you way more vulnerable too. So often games will just up the difficulty by giving you less health and making enemies complete damage sponges (god of war is a great example). It's boring because it doesn't really make the game harder as much as it just makes it take longer. Ghost of Tsushima just gets more realistic when it's hard and requires more combat skill without requiring more patience.

That’s a cool idea for a 100k special that I don’t think I’ve seen done before. I think the YouTuber “Anxietony” is a pretty underrated creator, he does challenge runs through games and only has a couple videos out but still puts forth some high quality content only sitting on 37.9k subscribers right now.

It's Super Eyepatch Wolf, the videos are just called "my favorite things" and they're usually pretty eclectic, which I like. Also for a small YouTube channel, check out Alistocrat if you want to see a self made animated pilot called Hugo's Mind Palace. Cheers dude, and keep doing your thing. I'll enjoy watching anything you enjoy making.

What's the other YouTuber?

I'd like to suggest "Lexa&!" as well as "Landen Hansen 64" and "The Anime Tea" for a creators under 100k. Not anime/gaming related but I also love "4 Plus" and "Flaw Peacock" and absolutely need more ppl to see them too!

Another YouTuber I enjoy will often do a video where he just talks about things that he's enjoyed recently, and usually calls out a few smaller YouTube channels as part of that and I always love it. This is a great idea.
