Update: Waifus 3

Hey everyone! Final update on the waifus video.

I have now finished writing my script (mostly). It came out to 14000 words, which means a probably 1hr+ long video. As I covered in previous updates, I just kept writing and rewriting it to include everything I wanted to cover, and make sure that it was all as good as it could be.

Currently, the video goes through the history of waifu culture, the history of moe, the history of bishojo, and a brief history into vtubers and the new online space for cute anime girls. And then it covers the psychology of the waifu, with my ideas as to how someone could fall in love with a fictional character. Then finally, the problems. Where I cover the exploitation of the industry, the problematic female characters it introduces, and the possibly nasty way that some people consume waifus. I then wrap up with a final segment on l*licon, since it is an imporant part of the history (I just made it it's own section at the end so I can put up a warning for people who don't want to hear about it).

Specifically with the l*licon portion, because I think YouTube might hate me for saying the word, I've replaced it with "lemonade" to talk about the subject. So that should be interesting. The rest of the YouTube cut will probably just have me censoring swear words and such, but that's the one segment that will probably be the same on Patreon, since recording it twice is not something I want to do. And honestly I hope doing that can get the video monetized, since I'm a bit worried about that.

Overall, I'm proud of the script and am getting ready to record. I just have some family events to attend this week that might slow that down. Then hopefully I can edit it and get the video out before the end of the year. I'm surprised how long this is taking, but the hardest part should be behind me.

That being said, this is probably the final update I'll give before I have the video edited. I might just post some behind-the-scenes if there's anything interesting. Hope you're all doing well!
