Behind-The-Scenes: 40k Subscriber Q&A

Here's my thoughts on my Q&A video!

This video turned out WAY longer than I thought it ever would be. I am still surprised how many questions everyone had, and how many good ones I got to answer. The total number I believe was 70 unique questions, which is actually pretty good to cover in just over 90 minutes.

I obviously don't have anything to say about the script, since this entire thing was unscripted. But I did try to compile the questions and order them so that there was different segments I could talk about at once (gaming, anime, channel questions, etc.)

Recording

Recording the video took quite a while. Turns out even when I don't have a script I still record for too long, because I like to ramble and pause to think a lot. The raw recording was over 2 hours.

Editing

Editing this was very straightforward. I just used simple images on screen and only a few editing jokes here and there. The brunt of it was just chopping up hours of footage into something useable. I wanted it to flow quicker even though the raw recording had lots of long pauses. You can even see in the timeline that the cuts were so frequent that you can barely make out the footage in the green screen layer.

I also just found some nice comfy background videos that I could put behind me. That along with the Lofi Lia music (shoutout Lia, they make amazing songs) I think made the whole video feel pretty cozy. It's a good background video I think.

Thoughts

Overall, a pretty simple video to make. I don't have too much to talk about the behind-the-scenes, since there's nothing too crazy going on. I hope my answers were satisfactory, and I hope everyone enjoyed the Q&A!
