So I know this comic has gone on for SIX years now- but this flashback would've happened just before page 1. The chronological events would've been Page 28 to the first panel of page 30, This sequence is "everything went black" and Raziel meets proto-Neri here first. Then the timeline resumes on the last panel of 30 to what we know in the story.

This bit is also being extrapolated on. All the novel had was Raziel's words from the previous page, so we actually get to see what went down, assuming Raziel is telling the full truth. This proto-Neri form interaction was mentioned on Page 31 (as this ^ would've been round one, round two mentioned there.) Page 144 as Amber recalled this interaction , Page 279 as Raziel recounts this interaction to Gauzier. I know after years it's hard to figure out where flashbacks fit in, but I promise this isn't slapdash retcon bs.

Anyways Discord calls this Nert. I'm always up for new dumb neri form names, but we really won't see this form again. And Nert can't cover her damn mouth when she coughs. (design is also based on an image from 2013, i think? was fun adapting it to now)
