Prologue – Trade Chat
(Adventurer’s Guild Official Forums, Miami Branch)

Max: Man, those soldiers sure looked messed up when they managed to get out of the dungeon.
Anonymous4: What happened to them down there?
Satyr: I heard that the Demon didn’t like them surprising him with guns, and decided to put them through the wringer because of it!
MagicMike: Where did you hear that? Not doubting, but gotta know sources on something like that.
Satyr: I know one of the soldiers who work in that recruitment station they have in Swamptown. The soldiers started talking as soon as they got into the station, before an officer took them into the back for a debrief.
Bacchus: Fuck, I don’t think I ever want to get the Demon even slightly pissed at me. The dungeon is hard enough as is.
VenusFlyTramp: As someone who has seen a hint of what the Demon can do (we helped test the Water Temple), the idea of what he can do when he takes the gloves off terrifies me.
DonnyJuan: Yeah, the dungeon is fucked up beyond all belief, but it actually isn’t anything a team can’t take care of if they’re prepared. The Black Temple is scarring, though.
ScoopGirl: From what I was able to see, the new undead floor is as bad as the Temple, but in a horror movie kind of way, instead of a sex dungeon kind of way.
Domino: *whistles* Damn, how bad does the undead floor get if it is as bad as rape roulette?
Domino: I just realized, I never thought I’d ever be saying something like that seriously without calling the cops.
SwiftTaylor: Just one more sign of the corruption the Demon has let loose, infecting this world.
Temptation: Aw, don’t be upset just because you got NTRed.
SwiftTaylor: You bastard!
Aegis: No, Taylor! Remember what we talked about!
LightningLegacy: Doesn’t mean we have to just sit here and take this abuse!
Temptation: Oh, no, you definitely don’t have to sit there and take it. You just have to remember your contractual obligations. And remember that, while I don’t send my dungeon creatures outside the dungeon without cause, that doesn’t mean I can’t reach out and touch someone, if I wish. Right, Crusader?
Crusader: *shudder* G-guys, let’s just drop it. We just have to wait until the third child is born, and then we can get out of here.
Kimiko: Oh, yeah, you’re the Paladin that the Demon fucked up for trying to screw with him. Why didn’t he just kill you guys?
Temptation: They make such a wonderful object lesson, and would be far less useful at that task if they were dead.
HurricaneGal: Geez, that’s cold.
Temptation: But effective. After all, I haven’t had to deal with anyone else getting stupid ideas since then. I get my fun, adventurers get a challenging, yet fair, place to train in, and everyone comes out a winner.
BestGirl: So, going back to the undead floor, what kind of horror elements are we talking about here? I mean, the only people we know that have been through it and come back out have been the soldiers and the Ambassador group.
ScoopGirl: Well, some of us were observing the run, but there are contractual obligations which keep us from giving out specifics.
Crusader: That bastard loves his contracts.
Temptation: Oh, shush. You’re just upset that you made poor life choices. But you really ought to be thanking me, for making sure you didn’t get too bored up there on the surface.
Kimiko: That sounds ominous.
Temptation: Oh, it is nothing. Just a bit of fallout from another of the special contracts.
Anonymous3: What happened?
Temptation: What are you willing to pay to get the answer to that question?
Anonymous3: Never mind.
Temptation: Thought so.
AsaAkiraIsBae: So, how did the ambassador group do in the dungeon? I mean, they have to have some badass tech and high-level skills, right?
Ambassador: It is true that our level of technology was higher, and that we are in the second tier of classes, which made most of the dungeon easy to pass through, since slimes or goblins can’t really compare to us. However, even we weren’t immune to the psychological attacks of the dungeon. It truly shows how terrifying a dungeon guided by a sentient mind can be.
Temptation: Yes, I was quite impressed with their abilities to get around some of the tricks and traps of the dungeon. Of course, I was nice and let them skip the Black Temple, though they did have to deal with the undead floor.
Righteous: At least the Undead are a worthy foe to fight, unlike the damn slimes or plants.
VenusFlyTramp: What about the goblins, lizardmen, and vurlocks?
Righteous: They are monstrous, true, but are not anathema as the undead are. They shall be weighed by their acts, and judged accordingly.
BestGirl: What about the loot? I mean, the crafting materials from the first two floors are good, and the coin and gear that drops from the goblins and other ‘human-ish’ monsters are good, but what is dropping on the undead floors?
Temptation: Well, more coin, obviously, and there’s some crafting materials that drop from different kinds of undead. Also, some gear drops, depending on the kind of undead. The more difficult the challenge, the more likely you are to get good quality loot.
SunnyBunz: Ooh, are there any good items for druids?
Temptation: Well, undead aren’t really all that ‘druid-friendly’, since druids are all about life and nature and that kind of stuff. However, there’s some leather armor that would give you some resistance to unholy energies, though they aren’t druid-specific. Now, if you wanted to go with a dark druid of some kind, there are some options out there.
SunnyBunz: Ugh, no. Dark druids are nasty as hell. Too much disease and death.
MightyMouse: Hmm. Some of those death-related warrior or mage classes could have interesting effects in the world.
LatinHeat: Too bad that there isn’t likely to be much for people using guns.
Temptation: Not immediately. Still working out the best way to use them since they can cause balance issues. However, I am putting together a separate run just for gun-users. And once I get some renovations done, I’ll probably start working on the next phase of the dungeon.
ScoopGirl: Next phase?
Temptation: Spoilers!
