I think scenes like this are some of the last remnants of the more...glum, adolescent view I used to have on things (I'm a much more chipper/ happier person now). Which this early part was edited, but this part stayed the same about all the way through, I might've cut more "I HATE LIVING BOO THIS PLACE" type of dialogue but that's about it. Though honestly she should be more of the "Man thank god I've literally gotten the best possible luck in having someone I can communicate with" we can chalk this up to Neri's pretty adolescent/ naive viewpoint. Basically I folded it in with the character so it works, lol.
