Loved this movie. I’ve just entered my 70s, I read Superman as a kid and he was my favorite then. I saw the first two or three movies, they were okay but didn’t hook me back into Superman fandom. I had no plans to watch this movie until I watched the two seasons of Peacemaker and realized I should watch it. So glad I did!

2025-10-12 23:14:13 +0000 UTCOne part of the movie that sticks with me is the scene just before the interview. When Lois ask Clark if he was willing to be interviewed, when he replied "sure" his voice went up. He knew he made a mistake but he was trapped by that point.

Once it was available on streaming, I figured it was worth joining the patreon so I could watch the full length with you. After seeing your trailer reaction, I thought you two would be the ones to watch it with.

I am reminded of the mistranslation of "Finger licking good" by KFC when they entered the Chinese market into "Eat your fingers off". We're the words literally translated? Yes, but they didn't convey the nuances that the English words have for us. I can see the message being real, and the translation being accurate, but not carrying the nuance. I could see the second half of his parent's message actually being something innocent, but with all the WORST choices for the English translation. I can see Supergirl (Who grew up speaking Kryptonese and speaks English fluently) hearing the controversy and saying "What? Wow that's a really dark interpretation...nah they are saying..." with a properly buanced translation

That was a CHOICE!” As someone lucky enough to have seen every iteration of Superman on the big screen, I’ll admit — this James Gunn take and I did not start off on the right foot. I came in with a lot of Zack Snyder-era baggage, and for a while, it clouded my view of the Cinematic Superman. But once I let go of that weight, it was clear: this Superman is the one we need right now. Thoughtful, forward-looking, and yes — unapologetically woke. And to that, I say: Dean Cain can go FUCK HIMSELF!!!

I'm a bit precious with this flick for personal reasons, but maybe a short run-through with the right sort of reactors would be enough and not too much. Then I said to myself, "after their two trailer reactions, you know these are *the* guys to re-watch the whole movie with. Let the feels happen." And I was not wrong. Thanks for being your genuine selves. BTW, look up the credits for Lex's girlfriend and right-hand man. The BEST low-key nods; I giggled when I saw them.

I'm old enough that I saw Superman '78 in the theater when I was a little kid. It had a huge impact on me and (along with Star Wars) it totally shaped my world and interest ever since. This is the first time I have seen a Superman comic book brought to life. This is the most comic bookie comic book film I have ever seen. I loved your reaction - thank you for sharing it!

This is the second movie I've seen him cameo in (the first being the D&D movie) where the audience went nuts in the theater and I had absolutely no idea who he was.

They aren't really allowed to re-upload like movies and stuff just with their face next to it unedited, so this is sadly the next best thing. I often just have them up on my phone, and sync it up with my tv!

The original structure known as Union Terminal that was located near the old Superfriends cartoon's production offices. I really want to visit it someday. Lived in Cincy for years and still have yet to go. Have been watching you guys on YouTube for a minute. Glad to support ya here. Love the content. Miss the east coast.

Definitely Jay but, when Adam broke down and celebrated after the punk rock scene with Clark and Lois, I felt such a wave of relief. I wanted this to be good. "Good" would have been fine. For it to be as amazing as it was is a gift. Like Adam, Superman has always been my #1. I was 4 years old when I saw Superman The Movie in theaters in 1978. This movie made me feel hopeful. Superman = HOPE and they nailed that. I love that James Gunn took us into a living, breathing DC world. Zesti Cola, Jitters Coffee, GBS News, Stagg Industries, Chocos!! It was all there. It all worked. We finally got taken into Superman's world instead of trying to fit him into ours. It was perfect.

Personally I wasn't much of a Superman fan going into this, I knew his lore but I hadn't directly followed his lore but man did I have a good time with this movie. I loved seeing Adam get excited at all the DC references even if I didn't know any of them, his hype told me everything I needed to know and Jay's emotion at the ending scene was just beautiful. I have no idea where this DC is going but honestly I'm here for it. I do believe Supergirl is next and if I am correct I believe James Gunn said something about a Superman and Supergirl team up story down the road which could be fun. Hopefully with Supergirl entering the mix we could learn a bit more about this world's Krypton and what was going on with that message and Jor El. Maybe Zod corrupted it or was somehow involved? IDK but I'm excited to find out and I'm even more excited to see how y'all react to it.

Once the theme song started playing, that title screen, and the costume with the red trucks, I know that DC is in good hands. Totally feels like justice league unlimited and I can’t not wait to see the Flash standing next to Superman with that costume. Unfortunately that won’t be till at least two more years 😭 Glad Adam got his Superman movie he wanted and that Jay enjoyed it just as much. Definitely one of my favorite reactions. Can’t wait for this DC journey with you guys 👍

Everyone wants the stoic, I can do anything, Supes, but he has gotten his rear end kicked quite a few times and had to regroup. I'm glad they showed that side of him. I also enjoy how Superman is already established, and we didn't go through another origin story. Thought the side characters were great. Thought this movie was refreshing.

It almost feels like a sequel. But it hits a lot of the right notes. Just not overly hyped. On par with Fantastic Four. Thunderbolts a much better movie imo though.
