Severance S2E08 Watch A Long

Hey Peaches! Last episode we got Gemma's backstory, now it's time for Ms. Cobel. Where did she come from, and why is she so interested in the running the severed floor.

Yeah! Our YouTube memberships has the fully edited severance episodes dropping as soon as they are done being edited, usually a day early. It’s not the full watch-a-long, but the Fully Edited YouTube version. We opened that up for folks that weren’t into the full version but wanted early access.

Just started watching your Patreon channel. Do you have pre-release YouTube versions of these Severance episodes? Both watching you and watching the severance episode would be on my Wi-Fi. A lot of bandwidth.

My thoughts are that the tests on Gemma are to see about the scalability of the severance procedure and its effectiveness in preventing ‘overlap’ of emotions to the original personality, so it is still a core part of the mystery. In episode 7, her severed rooms had to do with things that cause discomfort of fear - the dentist, flying, and, personally to her, thank you cards. Lumon wants to balance the world’s tempers by ensuring that a person’s most distressing experiences can be tucked away into a severed personality. I also believe that cold harbor would be the most distressing and personal room for Gemma - having to do with her miscarriages or having to do with the car accident.

(I have shingles [overshare] so have been up with that pain and thus this has been a perfect time to rewatch this season with you all. Thanks for the distraction and sorry for the comment spam. 😅)

YEAH DUDE WE ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO DONE There is SO MUCH TO UNPACK yet! This feels like such a good 5-6 season arc show. It has a story in mind, it has an intentional trajectory, and it has a definite ending. THIS is how tv must be made, especially now. It prevents random cancellation in the middle of good storylines - you have the set runtime of the series and you know where you’re going.

Say what you want about Lumon, but that cell coverage just might be worth it all!
