Agatha All Along S1E09 Watch A Long

Finally watching your whole reaction and it was definitely 💯 But this really makes me want to have you watch Once Upon A Time. And something else that I can’t remember but probably will up recalling at a later date. Heh. But they didn’t Usual Suspects you - though that’s a good reference. They Labyrinthed you. Right down to the wizard of oz and Alice references in Billy’s room. In Labyrinth, Sarah’s room does the same thing. Books, toys, movie and theatre posters, musicians, etc.

i mean, if you think about it, Sly, even when she got the darkhold, it wasn't enough... because it abided by the RULES of the natural order of growth and decay, good and evil, but then she met wanda, the one with CHAOS magic, the one who lives outside of the natural order, and created her own children... My theory is that maybe she was trying so hard to take wanda's power so that she could use it herself to bring back her own son or make him a new body or reincarnate him.

I really enjoyed the show but like The Sixth Sense, I think rewatching this Agatha is going to be a lot more fun trying to catch all the clues laid out that tells you want is really going on All Along. Also I believe Alice admitted that Lorna never went on the road but died in a hotel room. Since the song was by then a piece of witches lore, she used it to protect Alice from the family curse. I believe Agatha was also for sometime a ghost and mentor to Wanda. They of course altered that for the show.

A theory I read was that Billy AND Agatha were slated to die during childbirth. Agatha's stealing other witches' powers was a way to starve off Death or perhaps she was hoping to absorb someone's power who would allow her to protect Nicholas once and for all. It's too much a coincidence that when Nicholas wouldn't do it anymore, Death came for him. Perhaps Agatha continued either in hopes of finding someone whose magic would allow her to bring Nicholas back. Or, again, perhaps to continue to fight Death. Or, for maybe she continued as a sort of revenge on a world that took her son from her.

Wow really. Glad people liked it, but what puts it up there with loki?

Emily D'Azzo

Remember in episode 1 when Rio gave Detective Agnes a picture of a dead body that turned into a picture of flowers...?

Chris J

Nope, easily up there with Wandavision and Loki with the best of the best

Was I watching the same show as everyone else? Dont know what didnt click for me, but I could not get into it. There were some good moments, but overall this might be my least favorite marvel show. Not trying to be negative, but did anyone else feel the same way?

Emily D'Azzo

100% and I like they kept it vague. A Marvel show that doesn’t spell it out for you is nice and it’s completely my conjecture. I think Nicholas was always planned to die and was out of death’s control, but Agatha’s relationship with death was already in full swing which afforded the extra time since not even death can accept a loved ones spite. Maybe I’m giving Agatha more credit for being (more) good and having some kind of unspoken deal to provide bodies in place of Nicholas. Then she just continues the scam because it’s all she knows plus a little vengeance.

Gio

It's questionable because Death was there right when Agatha was having Nicholas, before Agatha begged her for more time, meaning she was prepared to take Nicholas at birth. It's still not overly clear to me why Nicholas was doomed to die, perhaps something that happened before 1750? Or maybe he was supposed to die during Childbirth and Death granted him extra life? Just something that could have benefited from having additional on-screen context or dialogue.

That’s how I feel sometimes. I want to see what characters will be upto next, then don’t see them for years. (Shang-Chi, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Doctor strange and Clea, Vision, etc )

Agatha didn't want to face him because Nicholas hated that she did that, and it would be even worse facing him to find out that the song they created together killed SO MANY WITCHES. Also, it's possible that the next movie in the trilogy, VisionQuest is Vision teaming up with Billy to search for his lost son, Tommy.

On rewatch, you'll notice that Billy is the one that started all the trials including being the first one to enter the road. Also, did death take Nicholas once he wanted to stop killing witches and providing bodies to buy more time?

Gio

this may be setting up vision quest which is the third part in the trilogy

Alex Bailey

the one day they didn't kill witches he died, maybe the bodies death needed she was providing.

So excited!
