The young were forced to leave and assimilate into the slums the government had corralled the losers of the war into. The ones who were already living on the island, at least. The ones who had actually fought were killed. Our culture and history beaten out of us. Until the new generations, our generations, know nothing of the life before. Only the darkness we were hatched into.
